Jabs at Sarah Palin only make her more endearing
Boston Herald ^ | July 26, 2010 | Joe Fitzgerald

If you wonder why so many Americans are attracted to Sarah Palin, just take a look at the crowd now nipping at her heels, doing its best to derail her appeal through personal attacks that are scurrilous.

She’s been a mayor and a governor, yet they say she lacks experience, though they remain enthralled by a loquacious president whose own resume was barren by comparison.

She’s a happily married mother of five, one a soldier who served in harm’s way, another a son born with Down syndrome, meaning she understands what it means to live life on life’s terms.

Of course, the kid who gets all the media attention is the one whose life was filled with the bumps and bruises of a rocky relationship, as if that should be the measure of her mother’s viability. It’s unconscionable. On either side of the political spectrum, common decency demands you don’t advance your cause by using a candidate’s kid as a punching bag.

Palin has many ways to incense her critics, yet they all seem to endear her to the masses.

She doesn’t believe in killing unborn babies, and feels marriage is the union of a man and a woman, an institution defined and ordained by God. For this, she’s called hateful.

She believes immigrants ought to submit to an established process that would lead to legal citizenship. For this, she’s called divisive.

Good article. The author invites skeptics to examine the critics of Sarah Palin.

They are the kinds of characters no decent person would trust.

People are coming around ...

It is inevitable. Almost every person in this country has a vested interest in the survival of the USA. Every day, Obama and his circle stick another dagger into the nation's heart, and then laugh about it.

These people are monsters - killers without conscience.

The author makes a good case for Mrs. Palin and I agree with his conclusion: Mrs. Palin is an admirable person for whom we can be very thankful.

I like Mrs. Palin. I admire Mrs. Palin. I wish I was more like Mrs. Palin. I wish more people were like Mrs. Palin.

I do not think she should run for president.
She has not shown to me the experience or the intelligence for that job. She is competent for many other positions.

Do you have a list of other people who have been more effectively leading the resistance against this communist onslaught?

Suppose for a moment that you are informed, as many who have been actually paying attention to the actions of this regime, to the types of characters who have surrounded and influenced Obama for decades, to the heros studied by those characters and the historical playbooks they mention in their speeches, etc., etc.

Which of those nutless, gutless RINOs on your list, those who have been so noticeably silent while this communist regime has ravaged our economy, government, and society, will be welcomed as a leader when the regime succeeds in escalating the conflict into violence?

Do you really believe one of those pretty boys will just jump right in and lead when there is a good chance they'll get their hair messed up, and their fancy suits shot full of holes?

Sarah Palin has been out there front and center for more than a year, day after day. That's a leader.

I think those are really great, direct questions. I believe we are facing a communist onslaught.

I worry you are right to say, if not her then whom? I wish I had a torch bearer to give you. John Kyl? Maybe he has sat in the shadows because he refused to run against his senior senator. I like Kyl, I would vote for him, but when you get down to it, is he one of the problem?

I also liked Duncan Hunter. I don't think he is electable.

I can't jump behind Gingrich.

Romney just reminds me of Carey. Not that I wouldn't vote for him, but I can't think he is a Constitutional Savior.

Pawlenty..don't know him. First impression doesn't rock me.

Jendal I didn't think much of his experience until I saw some things he did with this spill. I am not going to vote for someone just because they are white or because they are brown. Jendal is a maybe / unknown on my list.

Fact is, Mrs. Palin stepped down. Site your reasons, I am sure they are valid, but she doesn't strike me as so intelligent she can serve without experience. I think if we run her, we could loose. I can't take another 4 years of Obama.

Christy?

I will pray for guidance.

I think if we run her, we could loose.

I think you meant "lose", but I don't believe we will lose, assuming we will have normal elections in 2010 and 2012, which is a major stretching assumption.

The point you seem to be missing is that she is already leading, where none of the others you mentioned are.

Whatever "experience" they might bring to the table is in corruption, capitulating, and generally rolling over for the opposition.

Don't underestimate the importance of charisma, the ability to communicate and strong principles in making a strong leader. And Palin has more executive experience than Obama did when he took office.

And Palin has more executive experience than Obama did when he took office.

And also more than McCain or Biden.

Could easily, and accurately, describe "15 or 16" people here at FR.
I notice a dearth of threads submitted, (from 1 of the "15 or 16"), that emphasize achievements of their preferred candidate, yet copious threads on Palin or the Palin family, most being nothing more than sensationalistic smears and attacks.

She doesn’t have experience, from supporters of the man whose only experience was running for office.
What experience did JFK have? Or many POTUS?
As Rush says, she is not from the ruling class.
As I have said, she is one of us and not one of them.

BTW the reference for my tag line is Joel 3:10 (KJV) I think it is past time!

I imagine them running down the street, shouting profanities (’DAMN YOU, PRECIOUS!’) and pulling their hair out when she gets the nomination.
