Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Mobility Tax (MCTMT)
Bloodsucking New York State ^

Posted on 07/26/2010 8:05:10 AM PDT by ml/nj

The metropolitan commuter transportation mobility tax (MCTMT) is a new tax imposed on certain employers and self-employed individuals engaging in business within the metropolitan commuter transportation district (MCTD). This department administers the tax for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. (The MCTD includes the counties of New York (Manhattan), Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), Queens, Richmond (Staten Island), Rockland, Nassau, Suffolk, Orange, Putnam, Dutchess, and Westchester.)

TOPICS: Government
KEYWORDS: ny; subway; tax
I was in NYC yesterday to visit my daughter, and her husband was there dealing with a "Subway Tax" form. (hundred of dollars) I had never even heard of this. And he rarely takes subways!

The bloodsucking NYC transit system has for years been extracting money from people who want to go to Long Island (and a few other places) by charging now $11 round trip on the brdiges and tunnels to the Island, for bridges and tunnels that originally had 50 cent RT tolls to retire the bonds that funded the bridges. (The last one to open was the Throgs Neck Bridge in 1961.) Most of the money from these tolls goes to susidize the NYC buses and subways; and undoubtedly a bloated Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Thanks. Just forwarded the article to my son - who, right now, is looking at apts in NYC.

No doubt, MTA needs to pump some money into their retirement funds. Wonder if they had money invested in Bernie’s scam.

What is the real pisser about those toll bridges is that by statue they were suppose expire, but the good old newt congress slipped a little clause in the transportation bill calling them a different name and the screwing of America by both parties continues.

I would bet that of the billions listed at least half will go to waste and corruption/taxes(added).

What a great way to get businesses to locate
elsewhere. Lay taxes that hurt the business,
the employees of the business and the customers.
