CBS Face the Nation anchor Bob Schieffer is a great journalist with a long, storied career. But in the wake of his admission that he didnt mention the Black Panther story because he was on vacation and didnt know about it, he took to a commentary yesterday to scold new media for the Shirley Sherrod story. The entire show actually took on the issue of race. There was a discussion of the Sherrod story, media and race and a panel about the Black Panther story that Schieffer did not ask Attorney General Eric Holder about a couple weeks ago

That old wind bag is still on the air? :O)
Yes, his brain has been on vacation since 1947.
Investigative journalist (Old Media Style) at its finest. Two hundred thousand amateurs on FreeRepublic all knew about the story, but a CBS professional was "on vacation."
Sorry, Bob.
You really are ready for the rubber microphone.
“CBS Face the Nation anchor Bob Schieffer is a great journalist with a long, storied career.”
His seniority does not change the fact that he is a partisan hack who has little regard for the truth or integrity.
Schieffer has been a Donk partisan for as long as I can remember...
"A great journalist"? I refudiate that.
Is Schieffer on Obama’s HANUKKAH CARD MAILING LIST?
I mean JOURNOLIST?
It rivals AlBore's "iced tea" excuse in re the Buddhist Temple fundraising episode.
“Hi, America. I’m Bob Schieffer. Ignernt and proud of it.”
I thought he was generally pretty good after he was temporarily the evening news anchor after Rather left.
But, his morning show is another animal entirely. He’s awful on that show.
He's one of the old on-camera news readers/reporters who continues to see and merge the OLD broadcast paradigm onto what's happening in today's world of technology and news communication.
To say it simply: He's looking at today through a yesteryear lens.
Bob Schieffer’s an old fool. NBC needs to put Bob out to pasture before he starts drooling into his applesauce on air.
Wait! On second thought, NBC should leave ol’ Bob propped up in his rocking chair until he looks like Norman Bates’ Mummy dearest. That way, an entire hour of valuable NBC network broadcast time is reduced to the excitement of an off-air test pattern, and the number of viewers dwindles to single-digit levels as they flee to the Paint Drying Channel.
