Rep. King 'Convinced' Obama Ordered Holder to Sue Arizona (Video)
Fox News ^ | July 26, 2010 | Staff

VIDEO 6 minutes

RICH LOWRY, GUEST HOST: We are 102 days away from the November elections and with the government's lawsuit against the state of Arizona, the immigration debate will very much be on voter's minds.

~snip~

Joining me now with analysis is Iowa congressman, Steve King.

Congressman, welcome. Thanks so much for joining us.

CONGRESSMAN STEVE KING, R-IOWA: Thanks for having me, Rich.

LOWRY: Now, this judge, Susan, is a Democratic appointee. And she sounds very skeptical I think very understandably. This lawsuit just on common sense grounds makes no sense. Basically you have the federal government saying we don't want a state to tell us about people who are here illegally, violating federal law. That makes no sense.

KING: It is what it sounds like, Rich. And we know that the law was written in order to mirror federal law and not to go expand beyond the limits of federal law. When the federal government takes a position it's a matter of principle. I'd be curious what principle that might be.

I'm convinced and I think that Eric Holder essentially admitted that President Obama ordered him to sue Arizona. And I asked him before the Judiciary Committee when he was under oath point to a constitutional violation, a statutory violation or a federal case law that Arizona law would have violated. He could not answer any of those questions. That was about five minutes before Ted Poe asked him, have you read the bill?

It was politically motivated. He admitted essentially that the president ordered him to sue Arizona.

What was principle? They couldn't articulate that principle, now they're trying.

Of course Obama ordered Obama to do it. Is there anyone who thinks Holder would take an issue that politically sensitive and just run with it on his own?

Well, duh.

The question would be, why would anyone think Holder would do something that wasn’t within 0bama’s will?

“This lawsuit just on common sense grounds makes no sense.”

Still a toss up between the bammer and Holder. Of course, it was bammer’s decision with Holder standing by by for the trip under the bus, if necessary. (When all the ‘tell all’ books about this administartion start coming out, we’ll wish we had stock in publishing companies.)

of course he did. the decision making circle in the obama administration is 5 people; obama, axelrod, gibbs (believe or not), jarrett, and emanuel.

no one outside of that circle has any juice whatsoever.

that’s why is was so laughable when they insisted that AgSec whats-his-name fired whats-her-face all by himself.

You've got that right. There'll be a lot of money made telling about the corruption of Zer0s administration and it'll take some time to get it all out.

Everyone who believes AGs act independently of presidents on highly political legal decisions, raise their hands.

OK. I’m lost.

States/cities can be SANCTUARIES for illegal immigrants. I.E. they DON’T ENFORCE STATE LAW, nor FEDERAL LAW, and even PROTECT the illegals from FEDERAL PROSECUTION.

HOWEVER, a state, such as ARIZONA that FOLLOWS the LAW is being sued by our own FEDERAL GOVERNMENT and the pretend PRESIDENT.

How is this even LEGAL?

When all the ‘tell all’ books about this administration start coming out, we’ll wish we had stock in publishing companies.

I have a feeling that being part of this regime will be viewed in the same way as being in the administration of James Buchanan. And probably for the same reasons. Most won't want to admit they were part of it and those who can't avoid being tied to it won't want to talk about it.

That’s a good question.

In fact, the way I understand federal law the sanctuary cities are in violation of it. Therefore the DOJ is ignoring the enforcement of federal law, thus Holder is violating his oath.

No big deal for the Liar-in-Chief I guess.
