The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency expects to deport about 400,000 people this fiscal year, nearly 10 percent above the Bush administration's 2008 total and 25 percent more than were deported in 2007. The pace of company audits has roughly quadrupled since President George W. Bush's final year in office.

The effort is part of President Obama's larger project "to make our national laws actually work,"

Good. Don’t care which president is in office. The law is the law.

Did those 400,000 actually leave? And I wonder what counts as a deportation.

Morton said the 400,000 people expected to be deported this year -- either physically removed or allowed to leave on their own power --

Like Obama's aunt? There are an estimated 600,000 absconders [people who have gone thru the legal system and ordered deported] that are still running around this country. This is pure propaganda to justify an amnesty, i.e., the government has things under control, now we can start the amnesty. Pure BS. Anyone who believes this is a fool.

That won’t make the news. The media and their associates in the democrat party want deportations to be blamed on Republicans.

That is a simple amazing news report. Obama is surprised and upset at the success of law enforcement? Obama “was surprised by evidence that thousands of ordinary illegal immigrants continue to be targeted and deported...”??? A White House officials says, ‘We will look at what we are doing. And where we can make changes, we will make them.’!!! The ACLU and La Raza have a meeting at the White House to complain that the law is being enforced? Parallel universe.

Has anyone seen anything anywhere about businesses being audited? And if this were true and it is found that they are guilty what the hecks is being done to said businesses?

This is total MSM bu!!Sh!t. The reason the ILLEGALS are leaving,(if they are), is because of the new law in Arizona.
Ossama bin obama has deported NO ONE and he never will. The socialist dims will never get rid of all those dim voters.

He had a pathetic record to beat.

And I’m sure the numbers are phony as well. Bush began deporting illegals at the end, but the process is not instantaneous. If he began proceedings in 2008, then Obama probably got credit for it in 2009 when the deportation actually occurred.

That plus the fact that the story says only that the INS EXPECTS to deport this many in 2010. What they expect and what they do may be two different things.

With less work, the illegals become more visible.

Is this “MORE ILLEGALS DEPORTED” like “We have created 3.5 millions jobs with our stimulus package”? A LIE IS A LIE IS A LIE IS A LIE IS A LIE... it matters not what you call it... a lie is still a lie by any other name... and it stinks the same too. My apologies to Will.
