Celebs who lean to the Right
CBS TV ^

Posted on 07/27/2010 10:07:34 AM PDT by grayhog

Pretty interesting compilation. Maybe CBS thinks they are "outing" these celebs. Provides me a good list of people to support. Lots of tough guy actors, NASCAR drivers and country singers. Surprised to see Brittney Spears on the list.

I don’t know. Some of those links are tenous at best. 50 Cent comparing himself to George Bush and he’s a conservative republican now? Please! Brittney Spears statement about listening to the President because he knows best, that just sounds like a blond bimbo who doesn’t know much. I need a little more evidence than that to believe she’s a conservative republican. And being on the NRA board of directors, while a good thing does not necessarily label you a conservative or republican. John Dingell was on the NRA board once and no one confuses him with being conservative or republican.

I agree, Example: Dixie Carter? Her liberal views were continually expressed on the program she had with those other libs. Can't even remember the name, but she was an interior decorator or something. Can't believe she is a Republican, but maybe she has changed her party desires recently.

But what is the point of this CBS list? My, they must be scrubbing the floor for news lately. This is hardly "news," more like a training assignment for some lowly staffer who had nothing better to report about lately. Shameful that they would stoop to researching about someone's political affiliation and consider it important. You know it was done to hurt these people in some way.

Journalists today are just paid slime balls/gossip mongers. Give them a backyard and a fence and let them hang out there and gossip and they would be right at home, like an Irish washerwoman or Molly Goldberg (If you remember her, LOL).

They don't report NEWS. There is no story here by reporting this stuff. It is just meant to be mean and vindictive. All honor is gone from journalism today and writers are immature poop collectors. All they want to do is find a way to embarrass or do harm to someone, or to expose them for something, in some manner. Sickening.

What a load of crap list. First, just because someone is "registered Republican" doesn't mean they "lean right". Most FReepers understand this, but I guess it's too much for the skulls full of mush at Communist Barack Sludge to understand.

1) Just because Susan Lucci helped organize fundraisers for RINO Giuliani doesn't mean she leans right, it means she supported RINO Giuliani
2)Ahnold RINOneggar leans right???? I almost stopped reading then and there.
3) Gloria Estefan? Are you kidding? She just hosted the Obammunist at her home for some kind of fundraiser! If she leans to the right, then I'm Attila the Freakin' Hun! I stopped reading there.

As usual, more crap from the drive-by media.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

“Surprised to see Brittney Spears on the list”

Not something to be proud of. She’s so crazy these days she probably doesn’t even know how to make a bowl of cereal.

Maybe she has. She passed away last April.

This slideshow is more than two years old. Several of these folks are deceased, and I think some voted for Obama.

First ... Dixie Carter died. Second, she did several interviews with Bill O’Reilly — she was a conservative. The writers of Designing Women, however, were not.

Unfortunately, being registered as an R. doesn’t mean they vote that way. Estefan just hosted a big gala for Obama, for example. And some of the listed celebs are no longer living.

"My favorite:

He was not on that list so when you posted that I had to look that up because I would have thought he was a leftie for sure. Here's something taken from wiki:

"Downey has indicated that his time in prison changed his political point of view somewhat, saying: “I have a really interesting political point of view, and it’s not always something I say too loud at dinner tables here, but you can’t go from a $2,000-a-night suite at La Mirage to a penitentiary and really understand it and come out a liberal. You can’t."

I love it!! Speak truth to power Robert!

Robert Duvall does not lean to the right. Nor is he a republican. However he is Zell Miller type democrat.

Drew Carey is a self-described libertarian. I suspect that he registered as a republican for the same reasons that Ron Paul is a republican.

The list is at least a year old. Both Dixie Carter and Ron Silver have passed away yet they are mentioned in the present tense.

She played Julia Sugarbaker in Designing Women and was a registered Republican. She had a clause in her contract that everytime her character Julia went on a liberal rant, she got to sing or dance in a future episode.

That is correct! The writers/producers were those famous FOBs - friends of the Clintons from Arkansas.

I was surprised to learn of some John Force(racing) remarks. He was disparaging Hannity and Beck in such a manner that one would think he is an Obama Democrat.

Because Dixie Carter played a role, that makes her a liberal? How silly!

I have seen her interviewed and she is a conservative.

Actually Joey was a very hard core conservative from what I’ve read and what his friends and family have said. I’ve heard that for a long time now.

He attended the 2008 GOP Convention in Minneapolis.

But he is discreet about it, as he should be, especially if he wants to keep working.

Pretty much.

Plus, I personally prefer when actors just stick to their craft and don’t go spouting off about politics.

John Voight is the exception, of course, because he makes so damn much sense.

I didn’t mean to be silly, I truly thought she was a liberal. Others here have corrected me without calling me silly. I did not even know she had passed away, that’s how much attention I pay to the “stars.”

I didn’t say you were silly. Just what you said was silly. Actors play all sorts of roles; it’s called acting.

Anyway, silly isn’t a bad thing. You should see my sister and me when we get together. :)
