Court Upholds Expulsion of Counseling Student Who Opposes Homosexuality
Fox News ^ | July 28, 2010 | Todd Starnes

A federal judge has ruled in favor of a public university that removed a Christian student from its graduate program in school counseling over her belief that homosexuality is morally wrong. Monday's ruling, according to Julea Ward's attorneys, could result in Christian students across the country being expelled from public university for similar views.

“It’s a very dangerous precedent,” Jeremy Tedesco, legal counsel for the conservative Alliance Defense Fund, told FOX News Radio. “The ruling doesn’t say that explicitly, but that’s what is going to happen.”

U.S. District Judge George Caram Steeh dismissed Ward’s lawsuit against Eastern Michigan University. She was removed from the school’s counseling program last year because she refused to counsel homosexual clients.

The university contended she violated school policy and the American Counseling Association code of ethics.

“Christian students shouldn’t be expelled for holding to and abiding by their beliefs,” said ADF senior counsel David French. “To reach its decision, the court had to do something that’s never been done in federal court: uphold an extremely broad and vague university speech code.”

Eastern Michigan University hailed the decision.

Those public schools have no problem taking tax money from Christians. I think all Christians should abandon public schools, they teach crap anyway.

10 to 1 their are Muslim students attending that University. It is in Michigan after all. The University has to expel those students for their religious beliefs as well!

Let’s see how well that will fly!

The next logical step, then, is a ruling in favor of a public university that removed a Christian student from its graduate program in school counseling over her belief that murder and armed robbery is morally wrong.

“colleges and professions are doing all they can to purge any dissenting views of a more “conservative” outlook”

Freshman year my kid got hammered on his college papers that expressed conservative views. He adapted to produce the most slimy, absurd and ridiculous crap papers that were given A grades.

We used to conspire together to find ways to place dem talking points and contemporary PC speech into the papers.

Some of his papers that were graded A were so bad I could not make it through reading the first page.

The best one he wrote was themed, “Anyone who disagrees with Obama is a racist” Graded an A and was the biggest pile of crap I have ever read.

For this Kid, the Profs are the ones who got manipulated.

Personal experience having recently been involved in Jury selection. I noticed an attitude that indicates to me Leftist perspective is dominant in the judicial system today.

Values we all grew up with in the forties, and the fifties are not recognized in todays court it seems. Just one example if I may get away with just one is that guilt by association is not recognized. This was preached by the defense as well backed up by the judge. I was tossed from the Jury because I vehemently disagreed with them both. The defense even used Obama as an example of NOT being considered guilty by associating with the likes of Ayers, and so many others.

As I’ve posted before it seems Leftist’s gravitate to Justice, Journalism, Academia, and Politics. More so than folks of commonsense. I have deepest respect for those Conservatives that roll up their sleeves and enter those occupations to fight for what is right.

RE :”U.S. District Judge George Caram Steeh dismissed Ward’s lawsuit against Eastern Michigan University. She was removed from the school’s counseling program last year because she refused to counsel homosexual clients.

That is illegal in Maryland(refusing to service clients based on homosexuality) . She would have had a better legal case if she had counseled them to stop acting on their desires and they decided not to see her because they didnt like the advice.

The public schools are in the business of conditioning and brainwashing the students into cultural Marxism. All the PC junk and multiculturalism, tolerance, etc. is their goal—to make everyone equally dumb and shy away from any criticizing of their ideas. They use humiliation in the classroom to make each student conform to the one way to think—the Marxist way.

After public schools are finished with their indoctrination, it is nearly impossible to straighten out the thinking of these people. Their thinking is based on disinformation....fed basic lies that are not part of reasoning....so you will not be able to get these people to see the truth in facts.

KGB defector explains this on youtube in the 70’s. People are giving their children to the devil when they allow them to be programmed in the public schools.

The student looks understandably pissed off, but she is sure is beautiful. There seems to be something in conservative thought that lends itself to female beauty. Just an observation.

Once I get over my heterosexuality, I’ll be pissed, too.

Based on an interview I heard on the radio this morning, this was rather an expected and necessary step for the case to advance (eventually) to the SCOTUS.

There are LOTS of issues involved but, IMO, the lower court’s ruling should be overturned. I’m not a lawyer (and I don’t play one on TV!) but I think the university’s position is a losing one. The SCOTUS decision will be interesting when the case makes it that far.

One way to take care of this in Red states, at least, is for a conservative-dominated legislature to say, "Okay, since the university wants to institutionalise discrimination, we'll just cease to provide any funding for the university. Say bye-bye to your precious little graduate program."

I mean, shoot, it's not like we need half of what goes on in most public universities anywise.

It should be obvious that a coalition of homosexuals, aliens, non-Christians, blacks, actors, actresses, vice addicts, felons are now starting their governance. Their values are such that their conquest will constitute an inversion of all that went before. (This is why one sees the frequent comment "everything is upside down" [See for example the article reporting:President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, D-Sacramento, joined Latino, Asian, black and gay lawmakers outside the Capitol in support of the resolution." [Sacramento BEE , June 24, 2010 Susan Ferris][Resolution was the Boycott of Arizona]

Unfortunately, Americans do not have the leadership and organization to mount an effective resistance to the ongoing conquest. Indeed, it is starting to look like Americans themselves do not even have the spiritual strength to mount a resistance. This is sad as these groups want your wealth, your children and your very persons.

A. He chose where he wanted to go to school.

B. He learned how to read people like a book over this experience.

C. He’s been working in his field since he was 16.

D. Five months after graduation he was employed with a multi-billion/year company in a technical field completely unrelated to his major and making good money.

He only needed the pedigree of a diploma, not the “education”.

The ruling class's manifold efforts to discredit and drive worship of God out of public life -- not even the Soviet Union arrested students for wearing crosses or praying, or reading the Bible on school property, as some U.S. localities have done in response to Supreme Court rulings -- convinced many among the vast majority of Americans who believe and pray that today's regime is hostile to the most important things of all. Every December, they are reminded that the ruling class deems the very word "Christmas" to be offensive. Every time they try to manifest their religious identity in public affairs, they are deluged by accusations of being "American Taliban" trying to set up a "theocracy." Let members of the country class object to anything the ruling class says or does, and likely as not their objection will be characterized as "religious," that is to say irrational, that is to say not to be considered on a par with the "science" of which the ruling class is the sole legitimate interpreter. Because aggressive, intolerant secularism is the moral and intellectual basis of the ruling class's claim to rule, resistance to that rule, whether to the immorality of economic subsidies and privileges, or to the violation of the principle of equal treatment under equal law, or to its seizure of children's education, must deal with secularism's intellectual and moral core. This lies beyond the boundaries of politics as the term is commonly understood.
