Very good news! The thing to kleep in mind though is the ratings are for the 12+ demographic. That's everyone over the age of 12.
The spin will be that no one in the busisness sells that demo. It's all targeted now. For example one of our local stations targets women between 25 and 54. We are usually #1, 2 or three in the morning.
FWIW that AMAZES me! I can't figure how ANYONE with an IQ over 10 and a heartbeat could listen to our morning show! No personality, no info and the music is ...well it's not something I can listen to but then again I like Old Country-Western.
Getting back to Q&R....WPGB also hit #2 in the desired demo - adults 25-54 - second only to WDVE! Now that IS something!
I liked this paragraph quoting the WPGB program director.
"Quinn and Rose have been getting more and more popular. Their numbers have been growing since the last presidential election. There have been a lot of issues which people have strong feelings about with this administration -- with the rise of the tea parties, there's certainly a groundswell of like-thinking people that have perhaps added to the momentum we had. Finally! And the PG seems to have been fair about it! Isn’t the Post Gazette a lib rag? Good for Quinn and Rose! It really is amazing that they beat KDKA. I wonder how WPGB is doing, overall, with the rest of it’s lineup. It’s almost as good as it gets! (although I’d rather see Mark Levin in the Michael Savage time slot)
What is important in this type of rating is to check the "Trending."
For the past three months WSHH trended nicely up from 5.7 (% of market) to 6.0 to 6.4.
WPGB Also did well but not a much of an increase. They went from 6.6 to 6.8 to 6.8.
However in cume (the total audience for a radio or television station during all or a particular part of a day of broadcasting - that's as far as I'm going into that, LOL!) WSHH went from 546,600 (ttl listeners) to 589,100. WPGB went from 360,600 to 348,300 a net DROP! However they still go up in the ratings!
Confusing huh, LOL!
Also keep in mind these numbers are based on this
Population: 1,979,400
PPM: Mon-Sun 6AM-Midnight | 8.2% Black | 0.8% Hispanic |
That means the OVERALL station not just hte morning show.
This business (radio) is seriously screwed up!

Ok p6. You lost me! lol!
I was just responding to an e-mail I got from the Mark Critz campaign. I sent them an e-mail months ago to tell him exactly what I thought about the dems and their undermining of Bush’s plan to fix social security.
Unfortunately, I’m now on their mailing list and they are attacking Tim Burns because he is in favor of privatizing social security. I sent an e-mail telling them that I believed privatization is a GOOD thing and our greedy govt just wants to make sure that OUR money is available to them whenever they want it!
Has Jim been talking about it?
FWIW Elton John is blasting people who ar taking part in the AZ boycott. He just played a concert there.

You know that will go in one ear and out the othere, LOL!

Does the left have nothing better to do than sit around all day and dream up phrases like that?
Oh wait...I just answered my own question!

NEW YORK (Reuters Life!) Credit card fees and rewards programs exacerbate income inequality by acting as a transfer of wealth from poor to rich, according to a Federal Reserve Bank of Boston study released Monday.
The researchers argue that reducing card rewards and merchant fees "would likely increase consumer welfare."
Merchants usually don't charge different prices for card users to recover the costs of fees and rewards, but instead, mark up the prices for all consumers.
As a result, people who pay cash -- and who are more likely to be lower income -- end up subsidizing those who pay by credit card.
Basically the story is correct...ANYONE who pays cash MAY subsidize credit card users. That is obvious.
But to twist that into a transfer of wealth from poor to rich....!
My head is gonna asplode!

Morning!
Thanks for the info on the article and the radio station ratings. I used to be in the radio biz many moons ago, and am still fascinated by it.
Mornin’ everybuddy!

Go Jim, go!
How important this rant is!
In the meantime I got to listen to some of Q&R...although I was kinda pre-occupied, sigh.
In any case Jim was HOT today! The AZ situaton is unbearable! PLEASE Gov Brewer, keep the pressure on! Where in ...he77's bells is the republican party?
When Jim started on Michael Moore I just about lost it!
I couldn't be in the same room with that ....fat creature!
Lord, help me direct my anger to something that is productive for Your Will!

Thanks for the link to the PG article; will read it later...glad to know that Q/R are doing so well...and boy do I ever agree w/you sneakers...it would be AWESOME to have Mark Levin at 6 (I can only take Savage in small, tiny doses). I know of one of my neighbors who is a regular caller (she has a distinctive voice)...
Right now there are a couple dozen FB support groups for Gov. Brewer and Arizona. This isn’t the end with the decision (infact only beginning of appeals process for AZ) Jim was fired up this a.m. (the parts I could listen too) about 1070. I hope Q has good BP...which brings me to my ‘update’ on PaDad. Yesterday was uneventful (yeah!!!) downgraded to ‘upset stomach;’ able to eat a little more; still has to ‘plan’ to stand up (lightheadedness) but other than than a ‘quiet’ day. Our 21 year old is on nursing duty til I get home later tonight (at work today).
And P6...had to laugh that you have claim a ‘kerosene’ powered computer...we need to upgrade to one of those. Our desk top’s internals involved a gerbil and wheel...
Can’t wait to get the podcast for today’s third hour.
It may have been his best hour EVER.
