Diego Gutierrez, a 25-year-old man Mexican man, illegally crossed the border into Arizona sometime around last Friday. Gutierrez was handsome and well built, with big eyes and a head of thick, black hair. In a photo taken by a Pima County medical examiner, he appeared to have a Roman nose. After trudging through the desert on days when temperatures at a nearby airfield reached 106 degrees, Gutierrez began to complain of stomach cramps. He vomited. Gutierrezs father, who had crossed the border with him, left his son and flagged down a Border Patrol officer. The officer later reported that he and the father found Gutierrezs body in the wee hours of Monday morning, July 26. Gutierrez was lying on his back under a tree; his head, fittingly enough, was pointed north.
Until a federal judge intervened Wednesday, Arizona's Senate Bill 1070 was set to go into effect with much talk of death. Explaining why the states police officers should ask anyone they deem suspicious to produce proof of citizenship, Gov. Jan Brewer spoke vividly of immigrant crime, drug cartels, bodies in the desert. In fact, authorities are finding many dead bodies in the Arizona desert these days, but they are not the victims of immigrant murderers. They are the immigrants themselves. What 1070 misses is that its far more dangerous to sneak into Arizona than it is to live here.

So AZ does them a favor by discouraging them from showing up. Shoot, why doesn’t Mexico just do airlifts into border states; they already openly assist these cockroaches with literature.

Foreigners attempting to illegally invade the United States of America die in the attempt? Not seeing a problem here.

If Mexico cared about its citizens, they would build a wall on their northern border to prevent these needless deaths.
To: Dallas59
So what does the AZ law have to do with this guy's death? If he had obeyed U.S. law, he wouldn't have tried to cross the desert illegally, and he would still be alive.
It was his and his father's desire to break the law that caused his death. AZ had nothing to do with it.

What 1070 misses is that its far more dangerous to sneak into Arizona than it is to live here.Talk about grasping for straws to support an argument.
It's far more dangerous to be in prison than to live in a gated community, too.
Ergo, we just give convicted felons homes in gated communities rather than putting them in jail.

What 1070 misses is that its far more dangerous to sneak into Arizona than it is to live here. The law also "misses" the fact that coconut products are a main export of Sri Lanka.
It misses these things because they have nothing to do with the matter the law is attempting to address.

"What 1070 misses is that its far more dangerous to sneak into Arizona than it is to live here. That's not the point - 1070 is concerned with the ones still alive who make it to the nearest city to mooch off hardworking citizens.

When I read this kind of claptrap, it reminds me of some of the contestants on "America's Got Talent", who think they should win a talent contest because they "want it soooo bad...", whined through teary eyes. And almost all of them do it, or have some sad tale about their childhood, or no parents, or homeless...just some sob story to try and sway the judges.
But it's a talent contest, not a session of democrat congress.
It has always been the democrats thing - victimhood trumps all...they think.
Jesse Jackson railed about how the sharks still swim the same route - to this day - where all the slaves were thrown overboard on their way to America. The Indians have their "trail of tears"...and now those poor mexicans - who brave a frickin' desert - die in pursuit of a better life (you know, free housing, free welfare, free education, free healthcare).
No one ever mentions the people who founded the USA; they also died on boats on the way over, they died from diseases, harsh winters, wild animals, indians, starvation, etc....oh...but most were white, I guess that doesn't count.
Almost any endeavor pursued by mankind has dangers...driving to work probably claims more victims everyday than crossing that desert; accidents at work (even illegals at work) probably claims more lives than crossing the desert to come here illegally in the first place.
Right now, America is really not in the mood to give a $h!+ that these invaders didn't succeed in their CRIME of entering our country illegally. Most would prefer we guard our borders with pill boxes, some even say land mines.
It's a bad time to try and draw a tear from most Americans - well, maybe the obamabots...but they're only crying because they lost a potential (but illegal) vote. But don't worry libs...another one will take his ID off his dead body, and VOTE TWICE.
It's always amazing that most Americans have to PAY TO VOTE (Taxes), while the illegal aliens get PAID TO VOTE (welfare, healthcare, etc). If my Father were to be reincarnated today his first question would be "What country IS this?".

106 degrees with low desert humidity? I have played golf when it was 96 with high humidity so the heat index was 106. I walked with a hand cart for three hours and I am not in my 20’s. BS lib story.

Ah, you're remembering the speech delivered in the well of the House by the deranged moonbat former Congressman Major Owens of NY. His son played Bill Cosby's goofy son-in-law, Elvin, on "The Cosby Show."

now those poor mexicans - who brave a frickin' desert - die in pursuit of a better life Other people brave the horror of our immigration service in pursuit of a better life. But that is much less likely to result in death, and makes you a LEGAL immigrant.

If the law had gone into effect, people like that wouldn’t be attempting to cross the border because it would be futile. Instead, Bolton made these folks think the land of free food and stuff was theirs for the asking if they could just get there. These deaths in the desert are on the heads of the judges and politicians who have made our country the lawless bad lands.

I am reminded of when AIDS was the hot topic for the Left. They wanted to blame everybody but the perp/victim. They also wanted a lot of free stuff for the victims.
The ignored solution - don’t engage in unprotected homosexual sex.
Teen age pregnancies - don’t engage in unprotected sex.
Drug abuse - don’t take drugs.
Alcohol abuse. - don’t drink.
Dying of heat exhaustion in the desert in the summer time. - don’t try it.
The Left has a many pronged approach to destroying this country. Many encourage immoral activity but refuse to hold the perp or themselves responsible for the results.
The solutions are usually simple and straightforward but are ignored.

No argument here. He took a risk, it didn’t pay off; happens all the time. Too bad his country blows so bad that he didn’t want to stay there, but that’s hardly the USA’s fault.
