By now we all know that PFC Manning may or may not have something to do with the latest leak of classified documents to WIKILEAKS. But what we know little about is PFC Manning himself/herself. A few questions to start this thread off
1. Employment history before joining Army? 2. Political Affiliations? Left wing suspected? 3. Is there a connection between this leak and the LGBT agenda? Is PFC Manning himself/herself transgendered? if so is it relevent to this matter
For military members, perhaps. In my recent experience, DoD Contractors are not precluded from receiving a clearance based on sexual orientation.
If it's the later, and not the former, then yes, there's no way that person could be in the military. If it's the former, I'm sure there are plenty of cross-dressers in the military that are "undiscovered", assuming of course they don't parade around in public in such regalia, as that would be "telling" of the sexuality, and an actionable offense.

I'm sure you're exaggerating, but yes. It is. Boot camp, advanced individual training of 9 months to a year, and possible advnaced MOS training beyond that. But by the 18 month mark at the latest soldiers in intelligence MOSs have received their clearance.
That is true. I did not think about the “cross dressing” part. I was just thinking about the surgery type...lol.
Yes, that's absolutely correct. It is different for service members because their "homosexuality" if discovered by an enemy or someone looking to extort them, could be used for just that purpose.
I suppose that a closeted civilian could be extorted, but the rationale is that the uniformed service member has much more to lose, so that's a risk the DoD isn't willing to accept - or at least they didn't used to be willing to accept it.

The photo from gawker's capture of the FB page does look like Manning. If so the gay loaded "Likes and Interests" from the same FB alone does seem to make his point.

It's related because he told Adrian Lamo that DADT is what motivated his theft in the first place.
An earlier article said that he was reduced from Spec5 to PFC for some unspecified behavioral problem.
The gist of the article was that this guy has apparently been a chip-on-your-shoulder loser since he was in kindergarten.
Why he was given a top secret clearance, and allowed to keep it after his demotion, is beyond me. I’d like to know who the hell approved his clearance, and who approved his keeping it after the demotion.

I know it was fiction, but I keep thinking about Cpl. Klinger on MASH. He was cross-dressing to get OUT of the military. Now cross-dressers are trying to get IN.
