What will it take for the media to acknowledge that the Tea Party is not a racist movement, and that liberals have smeared it as such in a naked politicization of race relations? How about a lefty activist admitting just that.
UPenn professor Mary Frances Berry, a leader of the "far-left black political scene," as NB Executive Editor Matt Sheffield wrote, penned this astonishing email to Politico, published on July 20:
Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November. Well, so far I think the actual count (as I recall) is . . . two.
One took a day or two and the other was shooed off in about 15 minutes, before the end of the rally. None have been detected since and I believe no more REAL ones exist.

Even if that guy with the sign is from MoveOn.org, and voted for Cynthia McKinney for president because Barack Obama wasn't sufficiently left-wing for him.

Proving that the NAACP, LaRaza, the Hispanic Caucus, Black Caucus and all the other race groups have the power. How incredibly Orwellian. Our nation hangs in the balance and many of them are more concerned with being called names then telling them to go to hell.

The ways the Left thinks is always just plain strange.
What possible benefit can the Left enjoy by calling those who favor the Tea Party movement racists?
The potency of the Tea Party is not those relatively few who actually participate actively, but the many millions who share the aim of the movement.
How does it help you to call them names? If a few are racists, they will not be detered by the name calling. The rest, the overwhelming majority of just plain Americans who dislike what is happening will just get even madder- and more motivated- by the Left’s defamation.
Is this supposed to get the Left excited, to motivate turnout? It won’t do. Tea Party is too encompassing and too disperse to be much use as an actual target that would give rise to motivate a significant counter vote.
Speaking of that, Mary’s period on the Civil Rights Commission is a textbook case of racial intolerence.

Many of my family went to the U of P. If I recall, tuition was 5k in the 60s. I may be wrong. However, how can we justify hiring a racist when tuition is, I suspect, >25k.
