Left-wing Black Activist Acknowledges Race Attacks on Tea Party Are Bogus But 'Effective'
NewsBusters.org ^ | July 30, 2010

Posted on 07/30/2010 11:01:59 AM PDT by EternalVigilance

What will it take for the media to acknowledge that the Tea Party is not a racist movement, and that liberals have smeared it as such in a naked politicization of race relations? How about a lefty activist admitting just that.

UPenn professor Mary Frances Berry, a leader of the "far-left black political scene," as NB Executive Editor Matt Sheffield wrote,  penned this astonishing email to Politico, published on July 20:

Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November. Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.

Uhh,

Ok.

But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks

Well, so far I think the actual count (as I recall) is . . . two.

One took a day or two and the other was shooed off in about 15 minutes, before the end of the rally. None have been detected since and I believe no more REAL ones exist.

and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November.

If their is a candidate that is in opposition to the documented platform of the TEA Party Movement the odds of them being a real Republican are, umm, Zerø.

As far as that helping a communist calling themselves a democrat win this coming November?

They are daydreaming of Ø-bammy land again.

Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.

Well Mizzz Berry, now that you are on the record as throwing false accusations to divert attention to the wrecked economy that started in 2006 (one more time... what happened in `06?) the republicans have been relieved of that 5 minute chore.

Which will be more than enough time for all of us to listen to EVERY glowing success story of introducing socialism / marxism / communism into an existing thriving economy and watching joblessness vanish.

Mizzz Barry?

Woooooo Hoooooo, Mizzz Barrrr-ry!

We are all waiting Mizzz Barry.

You can start telling us about the wild and out of control success stories of introducing socialism / marxism / communism into an existing thriving economy.

We now have plenty of time...

Mizzz Barry?

The wild and out of control success stories of introducing socialism / marxism / communism into an existing thriving economy?

Just one Mizzz Barry?

Because we like joblessness and want the party that brought us massive joblessness to keep on doing what they're doing rather than risk electing someone with an R behind their name who might help get the economy back to work???

I hope they call the Tea Party and everyone who opposes 0bama “racist” even more, because the more they do, the more the charge is exposed as transparently political. In 18 months, 0bama has pretty well spent race politics into bankruptcy.

Ignore them, and laugh at them. Spend as little time on it as possible because that’s what they want you to do. The more it’s in the air, even as a lie, the more it gains mindshare.

If someone tells you that tea partiers are racists ask them if they’ve ever been to one. and then invite them to the next one so they can see it first hand, and then get on the offensive talking about the real issues.

Exposing their lies. Call it "McCarthyism." Joe McCarthy followed this philosophy: if even one of your friends is a communist, you need to answer a few questions for the House Un-American Activities Committee.

The Democratic Party has embraced essentially the same philosophy: if you have a Tea Party gathering of 2 million people in Washington DC, and just one guy at the back of the crowd has a sign that says "Taxpayer=N---ER," then all 2 million of those people are racists.

Even if that guy with the sign is from MoveOn.org, and voted for Cynthia McKinney for president because Barack Obama wasn't sufficiently left-wing for him.

I say that when they call us racists, it's the new form of McCarthyism.

From the article: "This willful and purposeful use of the race card for nothing more than political gain is toxic to race relations ...

These race hustlers are going to find out very shortly that the race card isn't a trump anymore. It's soon going to be as effective as "Your mother wears army boots ..."

The shame is that African-Americans are being sold out by the people who claim to represent them. Whether the NAACP likes it or not, civil rights in this country depend on the basic decency and fairness of the vast majority of white Americans. The African-American community is allowing that good will to be squandered for the benefit of Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, Charlie Rangel and their ilk. Obama has set race relations back 20 years ...

The Bible instructs us to turn the other cheek - it doesn't specify that we allow ourselves to have the sh*t slapped out of us.

It sure is. The Tea Party specifically and the right in general tap dances to that tune. As they spend inordinate amounts of time denying it, pushing minorities to the forefront and having to prove they are not. The hell with everything else as long as they don't call us racist. Meanwhile the Marxist are laughing their asses off. White people in particular are so easily manipulated when it come to race it is pathetic. Proving that the NAACP, LaRaza, the Hispanic Caucus, Black Caucus and all the other race groups have the power. How incredibly Orwellian. Our nation hangs in the balance and many of them are more concerned with being called names then telling them to go to hell.

Then let’s start a movement to abolish all so-called “civil rights” legislation, all “affirmative action” programs and all this “diversity” nonsense.

If this is going to be so one-sided, then it’s not “civil rights” at it, it’s tyranny. If these people want to roll up their sleeves and fight dirty, then bring it on. I’ve got a feeling it’s coming to this anyway.

The ways the Left thinks is always just plain strange.

What possible benefit can the Left enjoy by calling those who favor the Tea Party movement racists?

The potency of the Tea Party is not those relatively few who actually participate actively, but the many millions who share the aim of the movement.

How does it help you to call them names? If a few are racists, they will not be detered by the name calling. The rest, the overwhelming majority of just plain Americans who dislike what is happening will just get even madder- and more motivated- by the Left’s defamation.

Is this supposed to get the Left excited, to motivate turnout? It won’t do. Tea Party is too encompassing and too disperse to be much use as an actual target that would give rise to motivate a significant counter vote.

Once the public understands how much they have been snookered over the years, they come around.

Joe McCarthy was chairman of the Senate Government Operations Committee, which had nothing to do with anything in the House of Representatives, including that body's Committee on Un-American Activities.

As feeeeelings and emotional name-calling are to liberalism, so factual accuracy is to conservatism.

to silence those who question or argue against the leftist agenda. And it has worked for decades.

The “most effective counter” is to make it NOT WORK.
Keep pointing out the left’s failures and evil policies.

Best way to counter them is to start refering to these people as the Black Ku Klux Klan. A weak, wussified approach, the “we have more class than that” approach...is a loser.

You have to take on these racists, and counter them with their own racism.

In other words, Alinsky's Rules for Radicals is being employed by the democrat party...which is a national level political party, so we could call them the National Socialist Party...but since the unions are at the core of the party maybe the National Socialist Workers Party would be even more accurate...but then that's too long...for short the democrat party could accurately be called the NAZI party.

Cancel your support of radical liberals...

If you subscribe to a liberal newspaper, call and cancel.

If you enjoy movies, quit attending for the sake of your country.

If your children are in public schools, see if you can get them into a conservative charter school or private school.

Cancel all magazine subscriptions.

Do NOT buy from companies that are known supporters of the far left.

If you have liberal friends, see if you can "do better"...

That's just for starters...

THEY are at war with us. Remember how elite liberals would laugh about our lack of sophistication when we would accuse them of working together - against us - in the press? Turns out they were working together - and lying about it. Yeah, the sophistication of the sociopath...

Yet they continue to trot out the meme about “McCarthyism”

There is a genuine witchhunt going on. And it is from the same crowd who decried McCarthyism and ignore the Venona papers.

Textbooks are going to need to expose this era of history (1933-2012) the same as they cover Tammany Hall.
