LOL. Give Rangel the Sharia law slap on the wrist for thievery.

The Obama Left seem to have those connections

This will be the last straw. This was a golden opportunity to hammer the dims on corruption and the Stupid Party (c) will give it away. The dims will brush this off as a bipartisan committee decision.

It’s time to light up all Republicans that are having town halls. They fully deserve the same treatment the dims got last summer. Any Republican who supports the current ineffective Republican leadership is as guilty as the RINO surrender monkeys on the committee who signed off on this.

I think Randy “Duke” Cunningham should be allowed to choose Rangel’s punishment.

"Charlie! You bad, bad boy."

There, now let's all put this behind us and move on.

(PS - had he been an American citizen rather than a Washington immortal, he'd be spending the rest of his life behind bars.)

I recommend that the investigators are part of this corrupt system.

Reprimand, scheprimand. Why don’t the Rats just come clean and simply “congratulate” ol’ Charlie while they’re at it?

If I failed to pay my taxes, will the IRS just please give me a slap on the wrist ?

It is past time for the masses to start doing exactly this.

John Edwards was right.....there really are 2 Americas!

Charlie thinks the rich should pay more in taxes as does his friend, Kerry. However, that does not apply to THEM.
Looking forward to November...but, I do not underestimate the corruption of the democrats and their “neighborhood nuts groups.

I thought the panel was over and done with and he was going to go to a trial in September..?

It is and Rangel didn’t or wouldn’t accept the offer. So it’s on to the trial process:

From the NY Times:
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/31/nyregion/31rangel.html

The congressman who headed an inquiry into Representative Charles B. Rangel’s ethics said Friday that he and others involved with the investigation recommended that Mr. Rangel receive the relatively moderate punishment of a formal reprimand.

Representative Gene Green, the Texas Democrat who was the chairman of the investigative subcommittee that accused Mr. Rangel of 13 violations of House rules, said that the ethics committee tried to negotiate a settlement with Mr. Rangel that would have spared him the possibility of the more serious sanctions available to Congress, including censure or expulsion.

But Mr. Rangel, 80, a Harlem Democrat, and the committee’s lawyers could not agree on how much wrongdoing he should acknowledge, Mr. Green said, so the committee took the unusual step of calling for a public hearing — the Congressional equivalent of a trial — which began Thursday with a reading of the charges.

“If we could have reached a settlement we would have recommended that to the full committee,” Mr. Green said. “But that didn’t happen.”
end snips......

What is Rangel’s punishment? That hasn’t been determined yet... The process is just beginning.

Do you seriously believe that this coming election will solve any of the problems like this?

You will put in another crowd that will do exactly the same thing and as long as OZero keeps getting away with hiding everything he has to hide no one will get investigated for anything.

A reprimand is the most lenient of the three, formal modes of discipline in the House. The other two are censure and expulsion. A Congressional Research Service report indicates that "reprimand expressly involves a lesser level of disapproval of a Member than that of Censure, and is thus a less severe reubuke by the institution. "Under a reprimand, a lawmaker must stand in the well of the House and be reprimanded by the Speaker."

For Democrats to take down one of their own, no amount of evidence is sufficient. For them to take down a Republican, no amount of evidence is necessary.
