Democrat Ben Nelson Opposes Elena Kagan, Will Vote against her confirmation (Do you believe this?)

Nebraska Democrat Ben Nelson announced late Friday he would vote against the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan.

In a statement released this evening, Sen. Nelson said, "I have heard concerns from Nebraskans regarding Ms. Kagan, and her lack of a judicial record makes it difficult for me to discount the concerns raised by Nebraskans, or to reach a level of comfort that these concerns are unfounded. Therefore, I will not vote to confirm Ms. Kagan’s nomination."

Nelson is the only Democrat to oppose Kagan at this point. Five Republicans, on the other hand, have said they will support Kagan's nomination, giving her more than enough votes to win confirmation. A vote is expected in the Senate late next week.

Nelson has sided with Republicans on a number of votes in the past, most recently the restoration and extension of unemployment benefits for the long-term jobless.

She’s probably a freaking commie. I mean what does it take for an American sitting in Congress to wake up to this crap? Obama is a hard core leftist. He was the most liberal senator in congress. what did these fools expect? can someone explain why the gulf is shut down if there’s not problem and the oil evaporated? why is congress cutting the throats of people living along the gulf coast?

He’s desperate to rid himself of the stench of his corruption on the health care bribe. He’s going to be a total kiss-up to conservatives until he’s thrown from office.

"If he was the 41st to filibuster then it would mean something."

This.

Every time I hear a Dem voting against another worthless Dem, I think they are just being instructed to throw a (worthless) bone to the Repubs. If it was the 41st in a filibuster situation...yeah, that would be something to talk about. As it stands, he is backpedaling.

Five Republicans, on the other hand, have said they will support Kagan's nomination,

If the Worthy Oriental Gentlemen of Iran can stone an alleged adulteress to death, why can't we, as a gesture of solidarity with the Muslim world, do the same to these actually worthless bastards*?

*By use of this legal term, I certainly did not intend to impugn the natal status of our POTUS, The Mombasa Moonbeam, whose alleged father was the husband of a woman other than his mother for the duration of a rather brief liaison.

Unless you speak to my wife, none of you will ever understand why The Mombasa Moonbeam had to appoint Kagan. It's the "Chihuahua Theory."

You see, the good woman told me that once we had one long-haired Chihuahua (which involved a protracted battle), "it only made sense to get another to keep the first one company."

Apparently, the theory holds true for long-haired Communist lesbian jurists. It can get lonely up there. It is obviously why my two senatrices, The Down East Bobsy Twins, voted for both of these Marxist sweeties.

I can tell you that neither of them is as smart of one of my wife's Chihuahuas.
