RHINEBECK ­— The eagle has landed.

The day before his daughter Chelsea’s wedding to investment banker Marc Mezvinsky in Rhinebeck, former President Bill Clinton strolled through and ate lunch in the Northern Dutchess village on Friday, drawing hundreds of excited spectators.

The former president got out of a sport utility vehicle near the village’s main intersection, Montgomery and Market streets, around 1 p.m. and walked about a block north to the restaurant Gigi Trattoria with a throng of media types, security and excited onlookers in tow.

Was this the rehearsal dinner? If so, is that what they call "country chic", the dress specified in the invitation? I wonder if HIllary will bother to have her hair "done" for tomorrow? Doesn't she realize that the pictures of this wedding (including the bride's parents) will last forever, even if the marriage doesn't?
