The Rangel fix

A reprimand? That's it?
Seems so.
Barely a day after the House Ethics Committee issued its 13-count bill of particulars against Rep. Charlie Rangel, one of his de facto inquisitors revealed the likely punishment.
"The recommendation we had was a reprimand, and I'll let the full committee make that decision," said Rep. Gene Green (D-Texas), who led the investigative subcommittee that brought the 13 misconduct charges against Rangel -- which included misusing official resources for personal gain.
No fines.
No censure.
No expulsion.
Just a reprimand.
And the sentence is revealed before the case is formally presented to the appropriate adjudicatory committee?
How Alice-in-Wonderland.
How deliciously appropriate for a House of Representatives so lacking in moral courage -- to say nothing of shame -- that it hasn't yet brought itself to confront Rangel's outrageous transgressions.
No doubt the House is also worried about setting harsh precedents. One can never know who the next congressman to be caught might be.

He's gonna need a job just to pay for the maintenance on those choppers.
A “reprimand” was all that Bawney Fwank got for running a bisexual whore house from his DC apartment.
A “reprimand” was all that Gerry Studds got for raping a page boy.
And he turned his back to his colleages while they voted on his “reprimand”.
These people should be imprisoned. They are enemies of the people.
That’s exactly what would happen to you if you got caught doing that stuff. Right? People need to start shouting, loud and clear, that they want this guy kicked out of OUR Congress and anyone like him.
No more of these ridiculous in house investigations and reprimands. Take it to the people....after all those are their bosses!!!
Justice is blind??? Hell no! You or I would lose everything fighting the charges only to end up in jail anyway!!!
While I have long advocated jail time for this lamearse idiot, come on, what do you really expect from a Dem. controlled government, the very same idiotic government that has a tax-cheat running the IRS!? =.=
All the bluster in the media about him not making a “deal”... was obviously a lie. With the damning evidence of blatant cheating and corruption, no way is a reprimand the actual judgment... this could only happen if some strings were pulled and more $$ exchanged hands in some way.
So much for the RAT promises of the last several years to transform Washington into a transparent, open, and honest city...
The only thing transparent is the corruption.
Since the mid point of the last century - 50 plus years ago, Congress has consistently ruled, by both action and word, that there is a different set of rules for our rulers.
Lets change the members of Congress now - and do so at regular intervals.
Yes and we will still be paying for his sorry corrupt ass! Unfreaking believable!!!
The time is coming..........
I think the committee is made up of 4 democrats and 4 republicans.
So the republicans would need to sell our country out too.
I said as much earlier this week.
I have no faith any longer in government.
There is only one way to get rid of these sleazebags.
(Actually there is another way, but I’ll leave that tho those with more criminal expertise,)
A reprimand!
By golly, that’ll show him!

That may be the only saving grace of the entire episode. The beached whale from NYC may be forcibly retired.
No Money changed hands!
Charlie has been there for decades. No money changed hands. He knows all the scandals on Pelosie and the rest of the gang. He went in and played hardball with them. A reprimand is "bad press" for the Dems but what charlie could say would bring the whole damn party down.
Charlie was holding the Aces, Pelosi etal were not.
‘Bam seems to want him gone.
I suspect he knows crap like this just hurts the D party.
We traded a king and the British nobility for another King and an American nobility, its the same shit just different names.
The Dems think it will be helpful to them in an election year for a guy to get a reprimand for a tax dodge that would probably land any one of us in jail.
Yeah, good thinking there, folks.

Hey Carlie, pay no attention to all of the above comments. You hang in there and fight this thing even if it lasts until Christmas.
The Mombasa Moonbeam "seems" to be, and to "seem" to want a lot of things. But remember your Latin, and the motto of countless High Schools in the olden days:
"One should strive to be, rather than merely seem to be."
Yo, what is that 7" scar on the starboard quarter of Kid Kenya's head all about? Is he sending, or more likely receiving radio from Planet Soros?
