U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann canceled a scheduled campaign appearance in St. Louis on Saturday for GOP Senate candidate Roy Blunt after being hospitalized with an undisclosed illness.
The 54-year-old Minnesota Republican, who is serving her second term in Congress and running for a third, apparently was admitted to a Washington-area hospital Friday with what her office described as a "sudden illness." She missed several votes on the Gulf oil spill just before the House adjourned for its August recess.
Bachmann spokesman Dave Dziok said she was in the hospital most of Friday and that doctors advised her to rest.

Please say a little prayer for my Mom.
She's 92 and she's in the hospital for the second night.
She is a bit 'confused' and we know that it's time to sell her house and move her to safer surroundings...
Thank you, FReepers, for all of your prayers and support!!!
Prayers first for yer Mom FRiend.....hope she finds some comfort soon.
As to Michelle ....wasn’t she getting some heat for supporting this guy ?
Was this the Rinovirus that made her check in the hospital ?
Don’t get me wrong...I like her.
Again we will keep yer Mom in our prayers.....
Stay safe ?
Prayers for Michele!!
Prayers for your Mom.
Prayers for Michele and your mom.
We’re trying to find a way to have someone stay with her until I can find a safe place for her to stay while I sell her house.....
New at this...
Prayers up for a great fantastic and truly patriotic lady.
I hope Congresswoman Bachmann is supremely successful in each and every one of her endeavors and slays the dragons of the licentious leftist!!! I remember Reagan saying that most of them ought to be arrested, tried and convicted of Grand Larceny!!! Ha Ha Ha!!!
Get well soon, Congresswoman and maybe it was divine providence that kept you away from this rude loser's campaign... I just don't know...
Been through some stuff like this with one of our parents, it’s hard becoming the decision maker.
May God be with her through this time and ever after...
It’s brutal, TG.
Your Mom is in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us updated on her condition. Wishing you all the best
Good luck.....tough job we soon to be tasked with. But as I am sure you agree......Mom is worth it !
Wow, that's the hardest slam-in-the-wall first-post spin of a subject I've ever seen.
And slick, too - a fusion of Bachman and your mom. Anyone objects, why, they're attacking your mom, aren't they? How terrible of them.
So let's just say that your spin was grossly inappropriate, eh? And - as you obviously intended - you totally destroyed at least the initial discussion of this thread.
Let alone the ability of anyone to read it with concern about Bachman, without being head-slammed with having to think about your mom at the same time.
I mean, now that I've got your attention... I wonder if Bachman's illness has anything to do with the fact that the entirety of the oh-so-peaceful Left hates and fears her?
Not that they'd EVER try do anything bad to her, of course. That's just wild-eyed Tea Party talk. Why, people haven't had to be afraid of things like that since... the Clinton years. And certainly there's no Clinton running for anything now. Right?
Heavenly Prayers for your mother. Please Talk to an attorney about the proper power of attorney forms so you or someone can conduct her business etc if she becomes incapacitated and make sure she has a will...
My Sister called and I have to go now.

Prayers for your mom, BTLD. I understand. My parents are elderly as well.
I think you might need to rethink your post. BTLD is one of the good guys.
I am going through the same thing - been suspecting Mom has dementia for a while, now it’s official and she needs to move to “the city”. Hard for her to leave the acreage she’s lived on for 35 yrs, much less try to sell it.
Best of luck.
My thoughts exactly.
BTLD, I’m “an old hand” at it. If at all possible, bring the care to your mother in her home. Uprooting a 92-y/o parent is like uprooting a 92-y/o tree: too much insult/trauma to the body and likely life-shortening. Am honoring my parents’ wish to remain together & in their home, and it’s getting hard (89-y/o father, 82-y/o mother, both bedridden). However, it’s much cheaper (not inexpensive, though) than a nursing home to have health aides come to them. Have even managed to find a doctor, podiatrist, nurses, X-ray technician, phlebotomists, etc. who make house calls. Mother even had at-home chemo for ovarian cancer. Remodeled the master bath with no walls, dual floor drains, curtain for shower, grab bars. Widened doors and put in patio & walkway to get them out in a wheelchair. Brought in hospital beds & ceiling lift. Hard on the family, but ultimately a blessing.
My Dad set up a family trust years ago....
It’s handled. He made sure that Mom was taken care of, even if she couldn’t take care of herself.
A man of foresight.
