Boy Scouts shouldn't be able to meet in Boulder's public schools because they openly discriminate against gays, according to the local chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union.
Johanna Blumenthal, with the Boulder County ACLU, sent a letter today to officials with the Boulder Valley School District arguing that the Boy Scouts are a discriminatory group because they have openly defended the right to exclude homosexuals from membership.
The ACLU raised the same concern in 2001, but is now buffering its argument with a recent Supreme Court ruling. The ACLU is asking the district to change its policies so that groups that use school buildings must comply with district policies.
One of those rules prohibits interfering with a student's opportunities or benefits on the basis of the individuals race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, age, disability or religion.
The district's current policy does not require the Boy Scouts, or other groups using school buildings, to comply with the district's policies to receive reduced rental rates. The school district though reserves the right to deny use of its building for any activity that violates its rules.
We again pose the question to the BVSD Board of Education: Is it the policy of the District to subsidize a youth organization that openly discriminates based on sexual orientation?, the letter from Blumenthal says. The ACLU is citing the Supreme Court's ruling in the CLS vs. Martinez case....

It’s not fair that grown up male homosexuals can’t have unmonitored sleepovers with young boys. < /ACLU >
The should accept nothing from the government, and by doing so they will not have to answer to or even address the government in any way.
Churches and other private buildings should open their doors to the Boy Scouts and allow them to exist freely without any interference.
The Boy Scouts is an organization whose history and mission is too noble to allow themselves to be put in a position where they are in any way answerable to the toads of government.
It’s a far cry from the days when Gerald Ford appeared in an ad promoting scouting.
...........Johanna Blumenthal....
Sounds like a good muslim girl, a descendent of Abraham. Her name is on the list

ACLU shouldn’t be allowed standing in American courts!
They are by design and charter anti-American.
Boy Scouts v.s ACLU
I guess that means that NAMBLA would be permissable to use the facilities per ACLU. Does anybody know where those commie shysters get their income from?
I have an idea!
Government schools shouldn’t be allowed to host the Boy Scouts. If they are ALL completely shut down and turned into prisons, they there would be no government schools to do the hosting.
Government schools shouldn't be allowed to meet! Padlock the doors and do a minor refit on the buildings for use as prisons.
Better yet the ACLU should dry up and blow away.
Let us pray!
I don’t know of any troops who meet anymore in public schools
I guess the GS are out too, since they don’t admit boys
Are the parents of Scouts required to pay taxes to support schools in Boulder, huh ACLU?? Go munch a queer and mind yer own business aclu.
That's a good question.
My question would be how would a boy know whether he’s homosexual at that young age? But the homo-nazis like to plant the seed pretty early nowadays.
Unfortunately, the Scouts will be chased wherever they go, because the preversionphiles can't stand the thought of anyone not gushing over their gayness. Here's how it will play out: Scouts find Church sponsor willing to lend the use of their facilities; ACLU whines because the Church is tax-exempt, hence, "subsidized" by the state; state law requires the lionization of LBTXYZMIT persons in all cases; therefore, the Church must do the state's bidding.
