L. Douglas Wilder is the nations first African-American to have been elected governor. He served in that office in Virginia from 1990 to 1994
I didn't appreciate Wilder, attacking his opponent mainly for being pro-life. However, I believe that Virginia has a one-term term limit. So, serving one term on its own doesn't reflect bad on him.

I didn't appreciate Wilder, attacking his opponent mainly for being pro-life. To be fair, Marshall Coleman and his primary opponents Paul Trible and Stan Parris made abortion the issue during their primary.
