Rudy Giuliani’s daughter Caroline was busted for shoplifting today at an Upper East Side beauty and skin care shop, police sources said.

The 20-year-old was arrested at a Sephora store near the E. 86th home she shares with her mother, Donna Hanover, the former television, the city’s former First Lady before her bitter split from the tough-on-crime mayor.

Caroline, the youngest of the former mayor’s two children, was taken to Manhattan’s 19th Precinct for processing. She is a student at Harvard University.

It looks like Rudy’s ethics and morals have been passed on to the next generation.

Did Rudy have any children with his cousin, a.k.a. wife #1 ?

On the internet there are lists of stores that prosecute for shop-lifting and Sephora is one of them. IOW's, it ain't Wal*Mart. From Zoklet.net in the loss Prevention section, here is an item of interest:

Sephora: Will Chase/Will issue civil demand and call police, may prosecute depending on circumstances, will issue a trespass order for 1 year/No plainclothes/No monthly quota on shoplifting aprehensions/Very well and actively-monitored cameras that are full colour, and can pan as well as zoom in/nothing has a security tag/

There is one dedicated employee who monitors all the cameras, and has radio contact with all (or just the LPs) staff members in the store/There are generally more than 2 LPs active in the store with the camera guy behind the scenes/LP is well trained and even regular staff has a degree of LP training.

Anyone would be a fool to try and shop lift at that store. Security is Casino tight :)

She didn’t need to steal, I’m sure her dad would have given her some of his beauty supplies.

It happened to me once. I went to the local Pathmark for a few things and didn't take a cart. My husband put a bar of soap in his pocket when he couldn't hold anymore. We paid for all the other items. I noticed, what appeared to be, the store detective looking at us and couldn't figure out what was going on.

He stopped us as soon as we stepped out. This kid was really gun ho to call the cops but I said to him”Why would I shop lift one item, which was the least expensive item and pay for all the others?” With that reasoning he took the soap and let us go.

So there are websites that give tips to prospective shoplifters?

They probably charged a gift card to your account.

I, being a Sephora Shopper, want to know what items she stole. Their stuff isn’t cheap, but they always give you free samples, shopper rewards, and a Birthday Present from the store which is usually a nice collection of items. I love the Temptu line.

It’s easy to drop hundreds of bucks there in one trip. I’m glad Sephora has a no holds barred loss prevention program.

Nope....but there is a difference between Pharisees/moralist types who look down at people, always expecting perfection when there own personal/family life is probably not so great than to say somebody is wrong or is doing wrong

So he must be a bad father/ according to the moralist on FR or are they just Sarah bashers

Well, he's been married three times and cheated on the daughter's mother publicly... So, yeah. Giuliani is probably a bad father.

People who don't put their children first very often end up with children who act out in their own adulthoods.

Sometimes even the very best parent has a child who goes astray. When that happens, its tragic and I have nothing but sympathy for those parents.

Other times, the parent lets the child know in no uncertain terms that they aren't as important as their parents' career. They simply aren't there for the child, sometimes literally. That's tragic in a different way. I have no sympathy for those parents at all, and I don't care whether they have the magic "R" next to their names or not.

God gave us our children to care for and to love. They are not stage props to further political ambitions. To treat them as such is to mock God and laugh at His gifts.

If it makes me a "moralist" to think that people who have children should, you know, actually raise them, then that's okay with me.

“It looks like Rudy’s ethics and morals have been passed on to the next generation.”

LOL! Like her mother appearing in “The Vagina Monologues” while still the wife of the mayor of NYC?

Caroline Giuliani is a big Barack Obama supporter. She probably figured there was some kind of Federal Cosmetic Welfare Program, so lipstick is free now that The Won is in charge...

Yeah, he went on with his new love affair while still married to Donna- but she WOULD NOT LET HIM GO. (and not out of love, more like...fame whore)

Would not divorce him. Would not cooperate with attorneys in making a settlement. Would not move out of the governor's mansion. Proceeded to do everything she could to publicly embarrass him. Like making a big deal out of appearing in “The Vagina Monologues” as the mayor's wife.
I'm sure the kids’ lives were a living hell but not because of their dad! She was a textbook case of “rejected woman” rage. A LMN movie in the flesh.

I think Rudy was lucky to find Judith- she nursed him through the publicity disaster and through his prostate cancer when he was living in a bedroom of Gracie mansion and Donna was in her absolute worst public affairs campaign to destroy him ...in the process destroying the kids, and the reputation of the NYC mayor's office.

The “golf pro” son is also weird.

If everything you say about Hanover is true, and I’m sure it is, then they (Guiliani & Hanover) are both people who have repeatedly put their own lives ahead of those of their children. Giuliani’s children have had to live every day of their lives with the fact that their father preferred another woman to them and their family. They have to live with what their mother did as well.

Politicians stand in the spotlight voluntarily and they invite public scrutiny. We can’t judge what sort of people they are, since we can’t know their hearts. All we have is their actions and their decisions to see what sort of character they have.

Standing on the back of one’s children to reach to top or to find yourself... throwing away God’s gifts for personal gain... those are terrible, selfish actions. Those are not the actions of anyone I can support.

Didn’t know that but not surprised, her mom was a big time liberal.

So was her dad.

that their father preferred another woman to them

That's what you call a stretch to fit a need. He preferred another woman instead of the raging lunatic with 'can't let go I'll take you down' control problems.
