I think we missed the story from mid-July about Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' mind-boggling effort to lobby Gen. Petraeus to reduce the military's carbon footprint in Afghanistan. During a hearing on the war (yes, this is war we're talking about) the Arizona Democrat stated that the U.S. Air Force is "the largest user of energy on the planet" (even larger than Al Gore?). She then asked Petraeus whether he plans to use "small-scale solar and hydropower systems and also some solar-powered street lights" at our bases in Afghanistan.
The General appeared to have a hard time believing what he had heard, but after a conspicuous pause, he managed an answer. You can watch the exchange here.

Everyone from the state of AR should feel shamed, SHAMED.
Oops, she’s from Arizona, not Arkansas. My apologies Arkansans, although you have given us Blanche Lincoln for all those years.
Please, oh please let me take her up in a fighter and eject her with a copy of the Obamaloon health bill taking the place of her parachute.
Gads, the splat would be so so satisfying.
That would have been a beautiful thing to see.
A very stupid question has be ask by a (D)
I suspect the USAF can probably generate more energy in a matter of seconds that the Arizona Democrat could ever comprehend...
Hydro-power. In the dessert. OK!
I watched his reply. I would have not been as kind. Something to the effect of, "Are you completely stupid?!" comes to mind.
If someone had removed her notes from her I don’t believe she could even have repeated the question....
Wouldn’t you love to hear someone answer some time - Would you mind rephrasing that question in plain English?
It would have been completely understandable if he had stood up, walked over to her, and jap-slapped her, right there on the House floor. Then, straightened his jacket, and sat back down, calmly.
If he’s lucky enough to win the primary I hope Jesse Kelly destroys this whack job. Who the hell votes for her.
Rush was right 20 years ago about the dumbing down of the people. Proof positive it has been mission accomplished.
So, so proud to be an Arizonan.... **sniff**

U.S. Congressional Representative asked General Petraeus about carbon emissions reduction in the war on terror- Fiction!
Fiction? She has a two and half minute soliloquy about JUST THAT. What are these people smoking?
“Unbelievable. As in, I can’t believe there is a group of Americans stupid enough in one location to elect a person as IDIOTIC as this imbecile.”
Her husband is an ASTRONAUT, for cryin’ out loud, and a captain in the NAVY! You’d think some of those smarts would have rubbed off on her...
Wouldnt you love to hear someone answer some time - Would you mind rephrasing that question in plain English a human language rather than baboon?
Apprently the horny dog didn’t marry her for her brains.
“”Would you mind rephrasing that question in plain English a human language rather than baboon?””
I knew I wasn’t saying exactly what I wanted to say but darn, these people drive me nuts!!! I don’t know who I want to strangle more - the ones asking the stupid questions or the ones without enough courage to ask them what the heck they mean!!!!
I like it!
