NOAA: Don't Believe Skeptics, Global Warming is "Undeniable" Tiffany Kaiser - August 4, 2010 12:16 PM

New State of the Climate report provides evidence

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association has released its 2009 State of the Climate report, and found that the past nine years (between 2000 and 2009) have seen the warmest temperatures since the beginning of modern temperature records, and concluded that global warming is undeniable.

The report included research on 48 countries conducted by more than 300 scientists using 700 weather stations. According to the report, the year's 2000 to 2009 were warmer than the 1990's, and the 1990's were warmer than the 1980's. In addition, each consecutive year from 2000 to 2009 was hotter than the year before.

Since the 1960's, there has been an average surface air temperature rise of 0.6 degrees. While this may seem small, the scientists noticed warming climate effects in the increased sea level and humidity, declining glaciers, snow and sea ice and increased lower atmospheric and land temperatures. Signs of warming has also been found as far as two kilometers down below surface in the oceans, since, according to the report, 90 percent of warming has been absorbed by the Earth's oceans.

"Don't be fooled by anyone telling you that global warming is caused by the urban heat island effect or problems with thermometers - the satellite data don't suffer from these issues," said Neville Nicholls, president of the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.

And the winters are also much colder. So which one are we going to “fight”?

Don't be fooled by anyone telling you that global warming is caused by the urban heat island effect or problems with thermometers

Talk about a strawman! Who ever says that urban heat islands or thermometer problems "causes" global warming. I don't think anyone denies that the earth goes through heating and cooling phases.

The issue is what causes those phases, and the answer isn't "mankind". That's the problem with the global warming hype. We aren't responsible for the warming and we won't the responsible for the cooling.

Tell me what the temperature was with CERTAINLY in say Brittany, France in May of 1347, versus August of 1792, and then maybe I might listen to your Socialist wet dream hogwash.

“Scientists” my ass.

These freaking people are nuts!

But you do have to give them some credit, since they never give up, evidence be damned.

Any so-called ‘scientist’ who believes in global warming (or the more fashinable ‘climate change’ when the data shows cooling) should be fired and prevented from infecting other students with their idiocy.

Credit for what? For holding their position steadfast and immovable without regard to anything outside themselves?

A dead possum on the highway can do that.

Indeed.

But anyone with a modicum of common sense, and even the most rudimentary, general grasp of the scale on which climate and the Earth’s atmosphere operates, did not need an expose’.

It was transparently, juvenile, pure horse$hit from the beginning.

ANTHROPOGENIC Global warming.

Nobody is denying that the climate is warmer than it was in 1750. And no scientist denies that the climate now is the same temperature or cooler than it was in 1000 AD. The climate changes. It's the reason behind the change that must be looked at.

We refute, repudiate, deny that mankind is having a significant effect on the climate. For instance: there was no heavy industry back in 1000 AD that could have caused warming, except for Cathedral building.

If the climate warmed during the Medieval Warm Period without man's interference, what basis is there for claiming man's involvement now?

Global warming?....Tell that to the citizens of Argentina, Brasil, and Bolivia. It has been snowing in Brazil and the temperature has been 0 degrees in sub-tropical Bolivia. Millions of river fish have died from the severe cold. What BS...

>>A dead possum on the highway can do that.

Yeah, but a dead possum is smart enough to know that the sun warms the Earth and a 0.8 degrees either way isn’t going to make any difference.

So, the global warming grant-writers (formerly known as scientists) ignore the dead possums.

"Don't be fooled by anyone telling you that global warming is caused by the urban heat island effect or problems with thermometers..."

Should we be fooled by the improper placement of temperature monitoring stations over the last several years? You know, the ones that were "updated" by moving from the middle of a field as mandated by siting requirements to the side of a parking lot or near an air conditioner condenser. Garbage in = garbage out.

-"...the satellite data don't suffer from these issues,"

Who controls the satellite data? What reference data exists from satellites 100 years ago? 500 years ago?

You cannot take data that is filtered by a few "right-minded" people and compare it to data that didn't exist 20 years ago. I'd like to see independent satellite data covering a period of time sufficient to show temperature change trends over a much longer period of time, and that doesn't exist.

And a potential winning issue for the GOP: strip federal agencies of all funding for enforcement of any regulations of 'greenhouse gas' emissions.

Seems the whole East Anglia debacle only slowed-down the global-warming hoaxers. It didn’t kill them.

There’s A LOT of money at stake, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised they have re-started the AGW spin-machine.

Questions for the pro-man made global warming experts: So, how much cooler would the planet be if humans stopped using all types of fossil fuels? How many people would die as a result of not using fossil fuels?

NOAA: Don't Believe Skeptics, Global Warming is "Undeniable"

Yawn.

And all immigrants are to be deported.

Yawn.

They keep leaving off those pesky adjectives when describing these issues, like: "illegal", "man made" or "anthropogenic".

Yawn.

Not to mention, on the global warming front; that even if proven that it is "anthropogenic", they would still have to prove that warming now does not forestall a climate catastrophe in the future.

I can tell you that it was certainly warmer than now. They were growing grapes in southern Scotland in the middle-ages and Greenland was just that! While I don’t doubt that there is “global warming”(and cooling),the activities of human beings have NOTHING to do with either!!As El Rushbo has said,if we want it cooler, either wait for it or send a giant fire truck to put out the sun!!!We experienced something very rare last year.A whole month during which there were NO sunspots. It was cooler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right.

"The report included research on 48 countries conducted by more than 300 scientists using 700 weather stations."

In reality, there are several thousand actual weather reporting stations around the globe. The average from all of these stations does NOT support this conclusion. NOAA achieved this scaremongering by throwing out all rest of the data.

90 percent of warming has been absorbed by the Earth's oceans.

Considering the size and mass difference between the atmosphere and ocean, 90% absorbtion of a 0.6 degree increase would translate to about a 0.000006 degree ocean increase.
