BONN, Germany British economist Nicholas Stern says a U.N. economic panel is discussing carbon taxes, add-ons to international air fares and a levy on cross-border money transfers as ways to raise $100 billion a year to fight climate change.
Stern has told international climate negotiators that governments will need to create incentives for private investments in industries emitting few greenhouse gases.
The Copenhagen climate summit in December determined that $100 billion is needed every year starting in 2020 to help poor countries adapt to climate change and reduce carbon emissions.

What is behind 'Climate' change? It's all about control.
.. about turning us from a free people to a herd of sheeple..
Oh yeah, I feeeel a "climate" change coming alright.
Its all about Money and the UN seeing itself as the World Government.
GET THE UN THE HELL OUT OF MY COUNTRY! NOW!
“to help poor countries” — it’s all about wealth transfer, global socialism
Poor countries don’t need help with carbon emissions — they don’t emit any, precisely because they don’t have a decent economy.
“The Copenhagen climate summit in December determined that $100 billion is needed every year starting in 2020 to help poor countries adapt to climate change and reduce carbon emissions.”
Until then they should receive a zero response from our congress, and continuing noise from our engineering / scientific communities demanding the facts out in the open.
Hey, give the UN a break! Flying back and forth to all those climate conferences is expensive, and that’s not even taking into account the cost of renting limousines and eating all those gourmet meals. It all adds up faster than you’d think.
The U.S. taxpayer is just going to have to dig a little deeper.
Does anybody else wonder why we still support the UN?
It tries to undermine the Constitution of the USA and
would love to cripple our Constitutional Republic.
In over 60 years the only politicians who tried to get
the USA out of the UN were Goldwater and President
Ronald Reagan who did kick UNESCO out.
GW Bush invited UNESCO back in 2002.
16 out of 17 of the AMERICANS that were involved
in creating the UN were later identified, in sworn
testimony, as secret communist agents.
The first Secretary General was the AMERICAN Alger Hiss.
Alger Hiss served time in prison pursuant to his
involvement in a Communist spy ring.
Many of the other AMERICANS that were involved in
creating the UN fled the country, to avoid prosecution.
The ONE AMERICAN, that was involved in creating the UN;
and was NOT later identified, in sworn testimony, as a
secret communist agent, was Dean Acheson.
Dean Achesons law firm was the legal representative of
the Soviet Union, in US courts.
If the AMERICANS that were involved in creating the UN
were Communists, what do you think we got from the rest
of the world?
“The first Secretary General was the AMERICAN Alger Hiss.”
Note: Alger Hiss was Secretary-General of the United Nations
Conference on International Organization, held in April to June 1945.
