HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Jobs Bill a Ploy for Democratic Votes, Republicans Say
n a mostly partisan vote, the Senate passed a $26.1 billion dollar state aid bill aimed at saving public service jobs and assisting states with Medicaid obligations, but Republicans are crying foul, saying the "special interest bailout" is aimed at energizing demoralized Democratic voters.
Democrats, with the help of Republican Maine Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe passed the legislation on a 61-39 vote. Supporters say it will save 140,000 jobs that would've been lost this school year. The bill received the two Republican votes in the Senate after Majority Leader Harry Reid found a way to pay for it.
Offsets for the spending are paid in part by getting rid of tax breaks for some U.S.-based companies that also operate overseas. Also on the chopping block are increased food-stamp benefits and $1.5 billion for a program aimed at advancing renewable energy technology.

I am like many ‘Republicans’ and I want out.
I belong to a party that does not have the guts to
throw out RINO’s... a putrid animal... I just can’t
imagine why. THEY are of NO VALUE ... they are
worse than ANY democrat... why do we tolerate them?
Raz
Over $400 billion left unspent from the Stimulus....and as Beck pointed out today, the Stimulus was meant to save these alleged police, firemen, teachers, etc. JOBS! Nothing more the a union and pension stability payoff......

"RINO TWIN POWERS....ACTIVATE!"
Way to go Maine.
Why are these two still in the GOP? Unless they are kicked out, their actions appear to be condoned by the Republicans.
Which will certainly be called a bipartisan vote by everyone over at JournOlist.
Less time at home also means less time to face angry voters.
1/2 of the Bailout has not been spent, this is NUTS.he saveing that money for the Treasury marks $2B in bailout funds for foreclosure aid

Why are the Witches from Maine NEVER held accountable for their obvious lack of respect for the will of the American People. Or are the people in Maine a bunch of whiney gov.nanny staters?
its all controlled
The next Civil War will be quite interesting when the North finds out it no longer has the manufacturing base or resources to supply itselft. Those are predominantly in the South and Western States.
Places like Maine will face, harsh, cold winters and the people there better know how to grow their own food, as they won’t get any from us.
The magic number is not 11 to get the senate it’s 13.
Leadership are rino in the Senate
If it gets close to Republican control they will switch like Spectre.
OMG. The new tax payer funded GM plant that is due to hire 900 new employees (that Oboma touted with pride) is going to be built in.........Mexico!

When are these two up for election again? All of America should work to end this madness. It should be made into a national movement.
Saving jobs for school teachers, firefighters, police allegedly. Buying their votes....Who cares what it costs. “Whitey’s got it. He can afford it”.....
There is no party. You have a choice. You can be a conservative, you can be a socialist or you can be a liberal, also known as a Republicrat.
Bingo!
Twenty six billion for 140,000 jobs? That’s a little over $187,000 per job. Where can I sign up?!?!?!
If it really is only saving 140,000 ‘teacher’ jobs, then that’s $185,714 per job. I know of no teachers who make that kind of money.
Let me tell you how this works. They send the money to the school districts. They put it in their general accounts. Then they do this, in this order: 1. They give administrators a raise; 2. buy some more gubmint cheese for the cafeteria, and 3. ‘save’ a few teacher jobs by not hiring anyone new and calling it a victory.
School districts are the most corrupt places on earth.
Wow, we were in sync on that thought, weren’t we?
And they only "work" an average of six months a year.
The public school system is one of the biggest tax payer scams in American history. The kids are nothing but tools.
As a wise friend once told me...
Great minds think alike. Devious minds are of one nature!
I trust we more of the former than the latter...;)
McConnell and others are Rhinos, but they don’t vote with the Dims.
You betcha. This is the game played in this corrupt "Two-Party Cartel". We probably will never have a true conservative CONgress. The elites won't allow it & these POS that are elected will sell out every time.
Gee little mini stimulus bills to do the job the stimulus bill was supposed to do......
Whatever those Teachers will be paid, it wont be that mich. Which makes one wonder where the rest of the money will be going.

We need to make them two dingbats within 47 GOP senators instead of 40. These two are really the Edith Bunker wing of the Republican Party.
I have to wonder when you folks in Maine are going to get your act together???
At least tell them (twin RINO’s) to switch parties to remove all doubt...Sure would make it easier for y’all and everyone else...
they are the same they play games with you wake up
