Obama's Top Economist Quits, One Night Before Having To Spin One More Lousy Jobs Report
.businessinsider.com ^ | August 5. 2010 | Joe Weisenthal

Obama's top economic advisor, professor Christina Romer, is quitting.

Apparently the decision is her own, and the split is cordial, although not surprisingly she didn't get as much access to the President as she'd hoped.

Of course anyone who thought that any President would be more likely to listen to an academic, rather than a political handler (like Rahm) was always doomed to be mistaken.

“Professors” is a dead giveaway code speak for overpaid fool with no want of real responsibility. Odumbos next advisers will probably be cast in the mold of Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright as the American Left tries to recreate the utopia known as Jonestown.

Here’s what a big nitwit is Christina Romer:

From Bloomberg News from yesterday, and I quote the article:

“Christina Romer, who chairs the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers, said the US needs stronger job growth to lower the nation’s unemployment rate.”

This is positively insipid.

Who recommended her for the job? Joy Behar?

You know, Christina Romer was one of the grown-ups in the White House. Even though they trotted her out weekly to spin things their way.

She and her husband are both professional economists. Do a Google or Yahoo search on some of their work and you’ll find they aren’t as “out there” as the rest of this bunch.

Orszag was the other grown-up in this White House. He’s not as “out there” as the rest of them, either.

Translation = the adults have left the building. I suspect neither wants their fingerprints on this train wreck once TSHTF.

Might be time to buy essentials now at reasonable prices, in case you need them later when they might cost more.

Do you think people are stupid enough to believe that keeping tax rates the same is a tax cut?

Christina Romer needs to stay in academia. She’s got the theory thing down real good... application wise.. not so much.

Amazing. They are also saying that keeping the tax rates as they are is spending money. The logic escapes me. I need to be re-educated in todays public schools to learn this new math. It does not work like the math I learned.

This reminds me of an old joke my Dad told me when he was alive.

Three world leaders have a real dilemma.

Saddam has 1000 body guards. He knows one of them is a CIA agent. But he doesn't know which one.

Mitterand of France has 1000 mistresses. He knows one of them has AIDS. But he doesn't know which one.

Gorbachev is trying to keep the Russian economy from collapsing. He has 1000 economists on staff. One of them is intelligent. But he doesn't know which one.

I think Zer0 just had the one identified!

She’s got the theory thing down real good... application wise.. not so much.

Generally speaking, when a top level aide leaves an administration it is because they are not applying her theories.

I highly suspect she was there only to provide come cover for this administration and the real "economic" decisions are being made by others - probably outside the administration altogether.

Expect an expose' in a couple years.

“Christina Romer, who chairs the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers, said the US needs stronger job growth to lower the nation’s unemployment rate.”

And I'm sure she also would say we need more rain to avoid droughts, and now that the oil well is capped there should be less oil leaking into the gulf, and of course if we produced more goods and services that would be just what we need to increase GDP.

Truly brilliant analysis, Christina. It's no wonder we're doing so well with geniuses like you advising Obama.
