Glib Gibbs?
Well, “glib” doesn’t quite nail down the mendacity of his performances. How about “Fibber Gibbs”?

glib was just handy and quick... ultimately of Germanic origin; related to Dutch glibberig ‘slippery’ and German glibberig ‘slimy.’
Hard to nail down.
I wasn’t aware of the Germanic origins or meaning. I’ve also thought of “glib” as meaning a smooth-talker, but slippery and slimy surely come much closer to characterizing Gibbs.
