I spent three days in Caracas in 2008. One of the things I did was inquire as to the exchange rate from a clerk at the Embassy Suites where I was staying. The clerk began to nervously look around then told me that she was not allowed to quote an exchange rate and couldn’t change my money there.

I went across the street to change USD into Ven money at a Currency Exchange. After waiting for 30 minutes, it was my turn. I didn’t bring my passport. Can’t exchange without passport. Back to hotel. Back to Currency Exchange with passport. I wanted to change USD 100; it never happened. I forget the reason they couldn’t/wouldn’t change my USD. I just lived on plastic for the remaining time.

It was clearly Commie even two years ago. I’ve been in Communist countries and never seen fear like I saw in Venezuela two years ago. It’s worse now, I’m sure.

This link is one of six follow up videos; Media discussing 1-6 Rec’d. I am only able to hazard an overview.

1-6 and the debates, 1-6, are focusing on the process by which Chavez has taken and keeps control. Using the same tools as our dear leader, Marx, Castro, Lenin and such, he is tapping all the socialist revolutionaries.

When Chavez speaks for hours on end nobody would dare disagree. His is not a conversation with citizens. His role is one of Grand Professor.

Is this the message? The revolutionary leader teaching his country about their new form of government?
