An attorney for the brother of Rod Blagojevich said he regrets that jurors who are now in their 10th day of deliberations never heard testimony from U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill).
Michael Ettinger, attorney for Robert Blagojevich, gave an emphatic "yes" when asked if he regretted that Jackson didn't take the stand.
"I don't know if I can at this point go into it. But it would have shown, you know, you've got the Jesse Jr. alleged bribery extortion. You've seen one side of it that I believe the evidence shows really didn't occur. I believe the jury would have seen the other side of Jesse and the Indians if Jesse would have testified," Ettinger said.
"What was the other side?" reporters asked.
"That's what I can't get into," Ettinger said.

“There’s another story to be told between Jesse Jr. and the Indians that I can’t get into,” Ettinger said.
In other news ...
Another fascinating fact: Jesse Jackson Jr, is also along on the (Marbella) trip.
I’m sick of hearing the Blago’s say anything. They had their chance.
Blago has clearly been a good boy so far and not inconvenienced Obama and his Chicago Boyz. I’m assuming he’s expecting a light sentence? Or has the jury been bribed?
If he doesn’t get what he wants and the judge gives him what fer can he still start singing?
I agree ... though with reports of JJJ in Marbella and 0 alone in Chicago I am more than curious about the other story involving JJJ and the Indians.
Gee, is anyone wondering why Jesse Jackson Jr. was among the priveleged guests that accompanied Michelle on her luxury tour to Spain?? Think the Obama’s would like to have him keep his mouth shut about Barak’s involvment in the sordid Blagojevich case?
He was already there. It may be semantics but he stayed at a different place and did not travel on AF2.
Thats not saying he didn’t go there intentionally to see her but our side needs to be accurate.
This is a message to any black juror inclined to want to protect Jr.that if Blago goes down, Jr's going down, too.
Fitz put on a weak case because he knew if he had called Rezko, Jarret, or Rahm, Obama would have been implicated in the corruption.
First defense question to Rezko would be why he sold part of his lot to Obama, making the remaining property unbuildable at a suspiciously low price.
I am curious is 0bama met with Fitz during his recent trip to Chicago. There were rumors they met over the Memorial Day vacation.
Obama Patrick Fitzgerald meeting? Did Obama meet w/ Patrick Fitz. past 24 hrs,Little birdie say yes

Is it some kind of legal rule that if the
main defendant doesn’t testify, no other
witnesses can ?? Or were they too scared of
how it would impact Blago for the jury to
hear Jesse’s testimony?
I don’t understand, ‘cept for a chicagoswamp

Blago Lawyers Hold Court, Say Waiting is Tough
By DANIEL LIBIT
August 10, 2010
Leave it to Rod Blagojevichs father-son legal team to break the silence.
With the jury maintaining its quiet now 10 days into deliberations, Sam Adam Jr. and Sam Adam Sr. heeded the medias wishes to say somethinganythingby holding court in the lobby of the Dirksen Federal Building Tuesday morning.
The lawyer for co-defendant Robert Blagojevich, meanwhile, said he wished that U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. had been called to the stand. Jackson had been expected to testify about his on-again, off-again dalliances with the Blagoevich brothers as Rod Blagojevich contemplated whom to appoint to fill the U.S. Senate seat formerly held by President Obama.
All the lawyers were reluctant to reach any conclusions about the length of the deliberations, but the father-son Adams team did give a glimpse into how theyre handling the suspense while dealing with their high-profile client.
Weve been doing this about 10 days, or 11 days, and in those 10 days I have had about a million thoughts, said Adam Jr.
Adam Sr. said he calls Blagojevich twice a day to check in on him and answer any questions his client might have. The veteran defense lawyer said the Blagojevich clan is hanging tight and praying nightly, but that it has been particularly difficult for the ex-governors two young daughters.
It was a difficult thing for those kids to go through, said Adam Sr. The TV cameras are out there today, at the house now. Rod told me that a TV camera is outside all the time. And it is hard for a little girl like Amy, who is a very sensitive child, as well as Annie, it is a hard thing for them to get used to. They are doing it. They are just surviving.
Adam Jr. continued to bat down questions about whether it was wise for Blagojevich not to take the stand.
In life you had two roads you can pick and once you pick you it you stick with it, Adam Jr. said.
The attorneys both appeared frazzled and exhausted, and said they have been wracked with anxiety.
Ill tell you what the worst part is, said Adam Sr., the worst part is when you go to sleep at night and you have no difficulty going to sleep, and you sleep for about two hours and after two hours and two and a half hours it is very difficulty getting back to sleep.
Asked how he has prepared his client for a possible guilty verdict, Adam Jr. said, I dont know who is going to be more of a basket case, him or me. Nobody is prepared.
Wrapping up his remarks, he continued, Im going to go back to the office and stare at my wall. That is all I can do.
Earlier in the morning, defense teams for both Blagojevich brothers were on hand for a status hearing in Judge James Zagels courtroom.
Its my practice with longer jury deliberations to occasionally call counsel to court, probably unnecessarily, said Zagel. There were no jury notes or other developments that more typically lead to such conferences.
In response to a reporters question after the hearing, Robert Blagojevichs attorney, Michael Ettinger, expressed regret that Jackson Jr. had not taken the witness stand.

I agree, and he’s despicable officer of the law.
JJJ is going to be charged...If he had been questioned he would have either had to plead the fifth, lie (Perjury charge), or face the wrath of the system. There was some speculation the JJJ was wearing a wire....Sure wouldn't want that exposed if someone is is/was the target and is still being recorded.
My gut feelings that there is bigger fish and bigger crime that they are going after.
Don't believe that jj and jjj are really at odds with each other over OB. But more than likely that JJ didn't know JJJ position as nark and was on the verge of blowing his cover...That in my mind would make more sense.
SO my next thought is when will the DIVORCE take place? Shall we start an office pool?
If BLank-O is found guilty...expect the same....(Also will cooperate to save Patti and for the sake of his children.
JJJ They have the goods on both he and Sandi....He'll (they;ll) cooperated for the sake of children.
SO ...Which big fish are they turning on....Daley & Company? or BO and Company?
IMO they could have Daley any day of the week without the above testifying.....
True justice takes time.....tic tic tic
Thanks STARWISE. This “trial” was a foregone conclusion. Pay to play, baby, that’s where it’s at.
