Does anyone really think 2010 is going to be about George W. Bush?

I mean, it's not an illogical notion, but the political reality and the speed of the media churn make the notion that Democrats can run against Bush this year vanishingly unlikely.

Still, the DNC seems to be trying.

From communications director Brad Woodhouse:

Serious question here - where is George Bush? Why is he not on the Campaign Trail for Republicans?

In recent weeks Republican leaders have said they want to return to the “exact same agenda” that was pursed under George Bush (Pete Sessions), that President Bush will be seen in a more favorable light by the public as time goes on (John Cornyn), that the Bush tax breaks for the wealthy and big oil should be extended without paying for them (John Boehner, Jon Kyl, el al) and that Republican candidates would welcome George Bush in to campaign for them in this fall’s election (RNC Spokesman – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0x8Mb2Dck4). So with all this love being shown to George Bush, his policies and his stewardship of the economy and the country – why is he not on the campaign trail for Republican candidates? Inquiring minds…

Sen. Patty Murry is running ads in Washington State linking Dino Rossi to George Bush.

So yes, they’ll try.

“The Democrats will try and make it about Bush. I doubt they’ll succeed.”

That’s all the Dems have. They are running on empty and sense a potential flogging of epic proportions come Nov. And, I agree with you.....blaming Bush is not going to save them.

I hope not.

The Dems certainly will TRY to make it about him.

But I HOPE the GOP makes it about the DEMS and OBAMA and his health plan, his trial of Talibanistas in civilian courts, his failure to protect the U.S. border, his bad mouthing America overseas, his socialist, job destroying economic policies, etc. etc.

"yep, that 4.5 - 5% unemployment under Bush sucked (rolling eyes)"

So did those billion dollar budget deficits compared to Obama's yearly TRILLION dollar budget deficits.

“It will work for the Rat base. But that’s about it.”

This is probably not a good strategy for the dems. Although the hardcore base won’t be going anywhere, this could backfire with many wavering independent voters, because it will remind them that things weren’t nearly this bad while W was in office.

I've seen a number of articles and letters to the editor about "Democrats blaming Bush" in the last week or two. Most reader comments have ridiculed the Democrats for their unwillingness to take responsibility. The most common comment about blaming Bush is along the lines of "that dog won't hunt".

The Democrats are in real trouble...

If it is, it will only be because the more Obama reminds them about the Bush Presidency, and they realize that they were better off when Bush was President.

You people overestimate the thinking process of an idiot. That idiot being the so-called moderate who voted for 0bama in ‘08. Yeah, I know: “But they’re voicing their displeasure now in poll after poll”. The painful truth is,.....THEY’RE STILL IDIOTS, and as such, can again be bamboozled by 0bama and the Dems. That’s the way I see it anyway....I could be wrong.
