If theres one thing to be learned from "Sex and the City," its that women love high heels. Sure, they might be painful to wear and challenging to walk in (for some of us, anyway), but as the saying goes, beauty is pain.
But blisters might not be the only downside to wearing high heels. In fact, the damage might be occurring higher up on the body in the ankle, knee and hip, according to new research being presented later this month at the annual meeting of the American Society of Biomechanics.
Another key finding: The higher the heel, the greater the risk.

I forget, what were we talking about?
The last time I wore high heels I didn’t feel sexy and
powerful, just wobbly and queer.
Guess this depends on one’s point of view.
Wait, maybe that didn’t come out right...
They don’t look sexy at all.... and I was just told this is a family forum by the mods, why are we talking about sex?
Smoking while pregnant, drinking while pregnant, wearing high heels while pregnant ... wait ... balance ... ok .... what else?
Michele Malkin was wearing heels today on Fox news.....looked healthy to me.

Kate Moss in the latest show fashion----platforms.
Wearing them causes pregnancy...
Relevant to your footwear ping.
Go with combat boots!
This has been known for at least 75 years. Who needs a new study? I guess the people getting the funding?

Why is Whoopi even bothering wearing heels given that horrific, unsexy, outfit. Might as well wear flats and be comfortable from head to toe - no pretense of fashionableness at all.
The author of this article is most likely an ugly lesbian.
Stripper shoes. That fills a square in Tryout Bingo.
NOT GUILTY
Exactly.
Well, I like to be eyeball to eyeball with competitors, er, other managers.
Hells are a must.
Too funny! There is nothing in the world better than heels...except on a drag queen who doesn’t know he’s one. They even look better on real drag queens.
The last time I wore high heels I didnt feel sexy and powerful, just wobbly and queer.LOL. I wore ridiculous platforms in the 60s, but never once high heels. When I watch the gals dance on SYTYCD (So You Think You Can Dance), I'm gobsmacked regarding their balance/ability to dance wearing them. How do they do it?
“The last time I wore high heels I didnt feel sexy and

The men who design high heels are wobbly and queer too.
The only High Heels I will wear are my western boots. I would never wear some of those versachey or whatever pumps or heels because they don’t protect your foot when you are feeding calves hay on the farm also it doesn’t hurt to wear something you can use to kick some sense into liberal idiots.
I had a pair of tooled leather platforms I would wear
when my lady and I would trip the light fandango,
they were at least 2 1/2 inches high.
Wish I had saved them just to show folks how trendy
I was, had my hair cut in a shag too.
Gosh and all this time I thought you were a guy! %:)
Women in hobbles ARE kind of attractive...
I was metro before metro was cool, then I got
over it, she left me for a taxi driver.
Ohhhh, I don't know about that, post #16 is a pretty good argument! It's a strange thing for sure but the only thing I can conclude is that it works.
Ah the mystery, women need to try for more mystery and poise these days, get away from out-machoing the men.
*laughing* That’s great! I wished I had kept a pair of my black leather platforms as well to show my daughter who is now 19. She can’t walk in heels either ...
Ah Korumba! Who is that on the left?

I have a new pair of red high heels. the domestic partner bought them for me. I guess hope springs eternal.
I used to wear them, but can’t anymore.
But, it’s interesting this topic came up because I just went on an outing and saw so many women with heels, really high ones. They seemed to be walking fine and looked very glam.
...women love high heels....
&&
Not true. We wear them because men like them.
Oh, but 3 inch heels are a great equalizer-especially when you have a Napoleon Complex Boss!!LOL!
Just wear them to bed problem solved.

“Not true. We wear them because men like them”.
YOU SAID IT!!!!;)
It's similar to the lame-wing routine birds use to draw predator attention. "Look at me! I can't get away." It also makes the woman look taller to attract a taller man. Height in men is a first impression visual marker of possible health, intelligence, and social standing and therefore a better family provider. High heels also make a woman's thighs look more slender and her movement distinctly feminine. That said, if all goes according to plan the man's eyes will never get to the shoes. The reason women collect so many shoes is in competition with other women. Most men don't care one way or the other about the shoes.
BECAUSE the effect WORKS!!
successfully.

Only if they are waved in the air while wearing them.
That woman has more raw sex appeal than should be allowed by law.
They wanted their women to fit into 3 inch shoes like these.

In order to achieve this attractiveness for their daughters, almost the entire Chinese society, from lower middle class on up, started breaking their daughters' foot bones at age 7. They spent years binding and re-breaking the children's feet so that they might end up with the stumps that fit into such tiny shoes.
Women were crippled by the fact that for the rest of their lives they were hobbling on tortured, bent stumps.

Now, designers push over 3-inch heels, which put women's feet at almost as ridiculous an angle, and injure their knees, legs, and spine in doing so.

The end result is often bunions, weakened feet, and of course, not insignificant pain.

Barefoot human populations have healthy feet that are strong and support free running, walking, and ease of getting around when older. We need to incorporate true foot health more into our modern ways. Our feet end up shaped like the shoe some gay Italian decided you should wear.

High heels are pretty and I like the look of them myself, but since I do not want the bunioned feet of people in my mom's age when I am older, I choose not to wear them except for special occasions.
Oh, and when you DO wear high heels, ladies: you walk from the HIP, not clomping forward like a cow. I cringe at the stars bovinely making their way down red carpets. Watch a youtube of Marilyn Monroe walking. That's the way to do it. But only on special occasions. (I love my flip flops!)

Letizia Ortiz...wife of Felipe, Prince of Asturias, who is heir apparent to the Spanish throne
I hadn't thought of it in those terms. But I do believe you have it right.
“The last time I wore high heels I didnt feel sexy and

You..... owe be a beer!!!
