DENVER -- Contentious political contests and Colorado's biggest experiment yet with mail-in voting has drawn a record number of primary voters, with Republicans alone already surpassing the total number of ballots cast from both parties in the 2006 general election for governor.
Most Colorado counties are using all-mail balloting and as of midday Tuesday, 38 percent of Democrats had voted and nearly 42 percent of Republicans had turned in ballots, according to figures from the Secretary of State's Office. Both figures are much higher than usual for a primary race. Denver had a voter turnout of about 16 percent in the primaries of 2006 and 2008.

Mail in balloting — vote fraud on a massive scale.
The official count is due 13 days after todays primary voting deadline. All of these races are now so close according to polling that votes cast late and provisional and military ballots counted in the coming days could factor significantly into the results.
I don’t think so...I had to request a mail in ballot with signature verification. The ballot arrived and had bar code on envelope and ballot. Plus, I had to submit a copy of my driver’s license as well. Comfortable with it so far...
Under “Topics”, enter “breaking”
But probably better to hit “abuse” and ask/tell the mod what you want to do.
Which candidates did Palin endorse?? Which did McCain support??
I know squat about these races. Simple question: Good Guys or Bad Guys winning?
McConnell(good guy) not winning against Tipton.
There is no vote fraud in my precinct.
TEA Party Ken Buck is opening up a little more of a lead. Local Weld County guy, heard good things about him from neighbors.
That alone is an AMAZING statistic! Sounds very good for November.
The results are rolling in and right now, and incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet is pulling ahead of his Democratic challenger former Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff.
Lt. Gov. Jane Norton and Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck are neck and neck for the Republican seat for Senate and Scott McInnis and Dan Maes are too close to call in the GOP’s gubernatorial primary.
which democrat has to lose to make obama look bad?
I like what I hear about Ken Buck. Got a mailer from some libscum org today saying he hated women or some such garbage. LOL too bad! I dropped my ballots off before I went to the PO.
Bennet for Senate, AP and FOX calling him the weiner.
He’s an Obama butt boy
Romanoff is the one who was offered a job in the Odumbo administration not to run against Bennett. Bennett was appointed by Gov Ritter to fill Ken Salazar’s seat
Thanks to the many Freepers who responded and got me up to speed!
Bennett, but I hope he wins because I think he will be easier to beat in the general.
“which democrat has to lose to make obama look bad?”
Unfortunately, that was Bennet. Clinton endorsed Romanoff. It appears Romanoff has lost, so Obama can save some face on this one. But how delicious would it have been if Clinton’s pick had won over Obama’s? The president could have been granted honorary Lame Duck status in the morning.
I wonder how many hundreds of thousands of bogus votes will be mailed in??
And how will they tally them before next November??
I agree with you. At least if Bennett wins, he’ll have a voting record to target in the general.
Bennet has been projected winner over Romanoff. I think this is good news for us. Bennet should be easier to beat in the general than Romanoff.
In Colorado?
Which candidates did Palin endorse??
Bob McConnell
(http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2010/08/10/4861668-palins-endorsements-by-the-numbers-and-by-gender)
Which did McCain support??
Jane Norton
(http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2010/08/10/colorado-primary-drama)
McCain supports Jane Norton for senate. Fortunately with 61% in Buck is still up 52-48
I had a devil of a time picking my choice for Larimer county Sheriff to replace Sheriff Alderden who was a solid 2nd Amendment guy. Spent about two hours reading everything I could about them. Both the Pub candidates had absolutely outstanding resumes as far as I could see.
Who was the simple mouse who insulted the tea party movement?
Was that Buck?
Unfortunately with 64% in McInnis is up over Maes by a small margin. Tancredo will split this vote in the general and give us Governor Chickenlooper.
That doesn’t hurt my feelings. Any stick in the eye to that traitor trash Slick Willy makes me warm and fuzzy all over. 0bozo will have plenty coming his way.
Yes, that was Buck
Buck has stuck his foot in his mouth a couple of times recently, or this race would not be as close as it is. But he’s head and shoulders above Norton. Any doubt about that was erased when McCain came to campaign for her a couple days ago. She stated she stands with McCain’s immigration stance.
Wasn’t Norton the one who had to petition to get on the ballot because she didn’t have enough support at the caucus?
Yep. The tea party choices were the overwhelming favorites at the caucuses. I believe to save face, Norton announced she would petition on before the caucuses were actually held
That’s what I thought. If I recall correctly, she didn’t even go to the convention because there was so much support for the tea party candidates, of which she wasn’t one.
bump
Vote in person. Are you in Boulder county? I got so steamed last time I voted, watching the poll workers help people cheat.
a close primary election will still damage obama.
it also means the clintons will redouble their efforts to prove they matter.
no Weld with business travel it was mail or absentee...
how?
