I’m guessing that the brave clerk would probably now be without a job if it weren’t a family-run franchise.

Score 1 for the gene pool self cleaning mode. Well, with his cousin publicly announcing that they don't keep a gun at the desk and probably won't in the future, perhaps those genes will get swept away, too. :-(

I’m glad the clerk didn’t get hurt worse.
It was a risky move grabbing for the gun.

Should have kept his head about him.

They say he bought a Honeybun before his attempted robbery.
I am inclined to think it was a funnygun and maybe he had it point the wrong way.

It appears the clerk grabbed the barrel, and when the POS jerked back on the weapon, it discharged twice, once into the clerk, and once into the POS' worthless gourd.
The POS is now taking the Eternal Dirt Nap, and thanks to him, the taxpayers are spared the expense of subsidizing his worthless life for years to come.

Protip for the clerk: If you're going to go for the pistol disarm, for God's sake step to the side and twist it back at the dirtbag.
That said, I'm glad the dirtbag won't be a continuing problem for ATL taxpayers. I wish the clerk a speedy recovery.
