“Bambi just doesn’t have the touch.”

He did a pretty good job of lying his way thru the election. He managed to convince most of America he was a moderate. That said, it will be harder this time around. Bubba had a pretty good economy.

The NYT and the usual claque of old media will do their best to make it happen.

The election was different. That was a masterful con-job to be sure, but what he faces now is something else entirely. He is no longer running against "Bush" or "Republicans". Rather, he is trying to explain what he's done and where he's going. Much harder. Bubba, in November 1994, said after getting his ass kicked, "I hear you." Then, in January 1995, he said "The era of big government is over." It was all lies, of course, but he said it and some folks believed it.

Bambi simply doesn't have it in him to acknowledge the sovereignty of the people or to pretend to change course. He will instead promise to better explain the rejected agenda that he will insist on continuing.

This will fail.
