The Transformation of the American Conservative Movement into Fascism [mega barf]
Veterans Today ^ | 10 Aug 2010 | Posted by Michael Leon

Editor’s Note: The following is the new epilogue from Max Blumenthal’s book, Republican Gomorrah, now out in paperback (Basic/Nation Books, 2009).

I am not sure when I first detected the noxious fumes that would envelop the conservative movement in the Obama era. It might have been early on, in April 2009, when I visited a series of gun shows in rural California and Nevada. Perusing tables piled high with high-caliber semi-automatic weapons and chatting with anyone in my vicinity, I heard urgent warnings of mass roundups, concentration camps, and a socialist government in Washington. “These people that are purchasing these guns are people that are worried about what’s going on in this country,” a gun dealer told me outside a show in Reno. “Good luck Obama,” a young gun enthusiast remarked to me. “We outnumber him 100 to 1.” At this time, the Tea Party movement had not even registered on the national media’s radar.

In September 2009, I led a panel discussion about this book inside an auditorium filled with nearly 100 students and faculty at the University of California-Riverside. Beside me sat Jonathan Walton, an African-American professor of religious studies and prolific writer, and Mark Takano, an erudite, openly gay former Democratic congressional candidate and local community college trustee.

In the middle of our discussion, a dozen College Republicans stormed the front of the stage with signs denouncing me as a “left-wing hack” while a hysterical young man leaped from the crowd, blowing kisses mockingly at Takano while heckling Walton as a “racist.” Afterward, university police officers insisted on escorting me to my ride after the right-wing heckler attempted to follow me as he shouted threats.

In the last 100 years Marxists are responsible for many more deaths than fascists. Furhtermore, Marxists tend to kill their own people. Neither group is desirable, but fascists have killed far fewer.

Here's another definition :

Throughout world history, people seeking dominion over other people have always claimed that their desire for ultimate power served some greater common good.

Yeah.
And it has a precise name.

Fascism

It is impossible to grasp the true concept of Fascism without returning to an age of clarity and facts vs opinion and editorializing; before personal definitions, euphemisms, the puerile, self-serving age of "depends of what the definition of "is", is.
According to the Encyclopedia of Philosophy, Collier-Macmillan, Volumes 3-4, 1967, pp182-183 et seq.:

...whereas Liberalism, socialism, democracy, and the other progressive movements of the nineteenth century had asserted the rights of man, the selfish claims of the individual, Fascism sought, instead, to uphold the moral integrity and higher collective purpose of the nation. And whereas liberalism saw the state simply as an institution created to protect men's rights, fascism looked on the state as an organic entity which embodied in itself all the noblest spiritual reality of the people as a whole. Fascism opposed the laissez-faire economics of the capitalism and the bourgeois ethos which went with it. But fascism equally opposed socialism, which preached class war and trade unionism and thus served only to divide the nation. Fascism could tolerate no organized sectional groups which stood outside the state, for such groups pressed the supposed interests of some against the true interests of all...
... fascism set up corporations which were designed to integrate the interests of particular trades, industries, professions and the like into the wider harmony of the state.

Doesn't that sound precisely like what's been happening for the last nineteen months?

Morons. Hayek well covered this. The following quote is the third one on my FR profile page.
Although our modern socialists' promise of greater freedom is genuine and sincere, in recent years observer after observer has been impressed by the unforeseen consequences of socialism, the extraordinary similarity in many respects of the conditions under "communism" and "fascism." As the writer Peter Drucker expressed it in 1939, "the complete collapse of the belief in the attainability of freedom and equality through Marxism has forced Russia to travel the same road toward a totalitarian society of un-freedom and inequality which Germany has been following. Not that communism and fascism are essentially the same. Fascism is the stage reached after communism has proved an illusion, and it has proved as much an illusion in Russia as in pre-Hitler Germany."

No less significant is the intellectual outlook of the rank and file in the communist and fascist movements in Germany before 1933. The relative ease with which a young communist could be converted into a Nazi or vice versa was well known, best of all to the propagandists of the two parties. The communists and Nazis clashed more frequently with each other than with other parties simply because they competed for the same type of mind and reserved for each other the hatred of the heretic. Their practice showed how closely they are related. To both, the real enemy, the man with whom they had nothing in common, was the liberal of the old type. While to the Nazi the communist and to the communist the Nazi, and to both the socialist, are potential recruits made of the right timber, they both know that there can be no compromise between them and those who really believe in individual freedom.

-- F.A. Hayek, The Road to Serfdom
And that "liberal of the old type", "who really believes in individual freedom" is what we would call today a Conservative. The Left had not co-opted the word Liberal yet, when Hayek was writing.

How about what happened to the founder of the Minutemen when he tried to give a speech when inited to do so at Columbia. They literally stormed the stage and ran him out of the building.

Going by their own definition, fascist all...!

Are these people all retarded, on drugs or what?

Says the party of government-run healthcare and government-run everything. The same party that uses the label “hate” to regulate speech with which it disagrees.

How about when the DNC brownshirts were outside the 2008 GOP convention with firebombs, plotting to set fire to police cars (with police in them) and kidnap delegates and the PRO-bama media kept quiet about the conspiracy, prosecution, and conviction of the Rats?

OK, I missed that one; as mentioned, it was never reported, that I remember, at least the prosecution and conviction part; not even by FOX.

I would be gateful for any links and articles about the perps who were prosecuted, convicted and sentenced.

Thanks in advance.

The word “facism” was coined by Mussolini who was a nationalist socialist like Hitler. It comes from the Latin word “fasces” the bundle of rods that was the Roman symbol of authority. These dumb ass leftists are ignorami.

They're not stupid. They misrepresent the word fascism on purpose. It's all very similar to the way they stole the word "liberal" from its classic meaning and molded it to fit their agenda.

If the practice weren't so sinister and destructive, I'd almost have to give the left kudos for their expert manipulation of language.

See if this fits...

John 8:44
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Always remember, you don't have to be a member of a Fascist political party to opt for fascist solutions or methods.

Leftwingtards get real excited when they encounter what they believe to be a misuse of the term "fascist" or "fascism" and demand that you debase yourself in some manner, maybe even submit to a public confession.

They are, after all, the world's foremost experts in the theory and practice of Fascism.

Max, the spawn of Sid “Vicious” Blumenthal – he who attempted to ruin Monica Lewinsky’s life by falsely portraying her as Bill Clinton’s “stalker.”

Salon has already corrected his initial attempt to paint James O’Keefe as a White Nationalist.  They corrected his baseless assertion that O’Keefe planned the “Race and Conservatism” forum held at Georgetown Law Center, but he continues to hold that James O’Keefe is a racist, and that he was in some way involved with the “execution” of the forum.

Socialism must be implemented by the threat of deadly force,
because no one will voluntarily cooperate by giving according to their ability when everyone else is taking more than they’re giving.

Everyone will do the minimum required to keep the whip off their back.

The cowardly bed-wetting liberals can sling the sh!t, but they sure can’t take it when it’s their turn.
