Bedbugs are taking over New York.
A new Daily News-Marist poll suggests that The City That Never Sleeps is probably too busy itching: One in 10 New Yorkers has now battled bedbugs in their home.
That's twice as many as the city estimated were plagued by the pests in 2009.
The poll results suggest that more than 800,000 New Yorkers have had bloodsucking bedbugs crawling in their sheets.
"I got all chewed up," said Margaret Martinez, 61, of the Bronx, one of the 11% of poll respondents who reported having personal run-ins with the tiny bloodthirsty insects.
"I woke up and I had bites all over my arms and my face. I was all swollen," she said.
From swanky glass lofts to creaky tenement walkups, the plague of parasites appears to have spread fairly evenly across the five boroughs.

Apparently they act like Dems.
Pray for America
Is this why the White House West Wing is covered, bed bugs?
All those vacations and travel? Hmmm....
Now that CNN Time Warner building got hit with bedbugs it’s a national story....

Uh-huh, this town's full of money grabbers
Go ahead, bite the Big Apple, don't mind the maggots, huh
Shadoobie, my brain's been battered
Could be, could be. Still, CNN’s been infected with louses and parasites for a long time, as there’s precious little difference between liberals and bedbugs.
I stay out of hotels if at all possible.....
their cleaning standards are not up to mine.....
Can you find a picture of a bedbug so we can judge it’s relative size. One next to a penny, or a ruler, a grain of rice or something like that?
Their guest lists probably aren’t either.
Good. This brings a smile to my face, and I hope that the problem gets much, much worse for these preening, unctuous twits in New York.
It doesn’t rise to the level of pest that they’ve inflicted on westerners with the reintroduction of the wolf, but it is a start. Hopefully, we can re-introduce wolves to the east very soon. I expect that wolves would do very well in areas like NJ and NY. Then these clowns can be eaten in their beds, and if they survive that, they can make a dash for their car, bus or train in the morning.

Wow - New Yorkers are so much more sophisticated and wiser than those of us in flyover country. I wonder what benefit they see in having bedbugs that we just don’t understand. To paraphrase - “It’s a New Yorker Thing. You Wouldn’t Understand.”

Perfect! Thanks!

Astoria, Queens is the worst spot. My daughters' apartment had them twice and we had to move them out and throw away all their furniture, clothes, etc. Cost us thousands. Their new place, in Manhattan, has diatomaceous earth (DE) spread around the baseboards and in every crevice and crack. The building's professional exterminator told them that was as effective as anything he could do.
Naturally the City has set up a Commission to "raise awareness" and talk about the problem. God forbid the do anything. Maybe if Hizzoner's mansions get hit something will finally get done.
Where is DDT when you need it??? Is this a great country or what? The natural result of the green movement is that insects will inhabit our bodies and use it for a food supply. But their carbon footprint is smaller than ours so everything is OK.
LOL! Perfect!

Little suckers....
Thanks to your picture I now understand “putting the kybosh” on someone.”
Put the KYBOSH on ‘em.
Can we introduce them to the NYC mosques???
LOL, that’s perfect!
I refuse to stay in hotels anymore because of this and the crappy cleaning. I don’t sleep anyways freaking myself out with thoughts of bugs and black light stains everywhere...yuck.
Thank a Greenie today!
Walked into my parts shed, 4ft of rattlesnake came down at the side of my face. Missed me by a couple of inches.
Came back the next day with a .22 full of rat shot. Steel building is why I didn't use something bigger.
Federal felony or not, I solved that problem.
I'd go out in the morning, rattlers would be lying in the road for warmth. Running over them with my diesel sounded like a kid with bubble wrap on Christmas morning.
LOL! ...you made my day!
Those victims of bedbugs are also victims of Enviro/Liberalism that banned DDT.
Well, find a non-pro exterminator , preferably from a country where DDT is not banned,...
You can still buy the household use DDT cans in Dominican Republic for example....
It’s the easiest way to keep safe now.
ALso, I think some Indian friends had relatives bring them over on a recent visit...
