Well, spengy, most people I know don’t like obvious evil.

If a mohammedan is following the teachings held within the pages of the mohammedan religious book, they are embracing evil.

Not recent history, certainly not after the collapse of the Turkish empire and not for the vast majority of the Islamic Crescent countries.

Throwback, Salafist Islam is relatively new phenom in the modern world, one could say that line of thought expired at the Gates of Vienna when the Sultanate lost.

All Americans should read some of the Koran - down right chilling! It is NOT a religion of peace and mutual respect - it is a religion of dominance and tyranny.

Here is a great video I saw posted on another link, very worthwhile to watch and pass along: 3 Things About islam

I’ve always said that those “coexist” car folk are free to move to a mooslem country and “coexist” with them over there.

Yours is a most excellent and complete list of reasons. The fact that their Koran tells them to do all those things is the root of the whole matter.

I know of no other religion whose “book” commands them to murder non-believers.

Thanx, zz - excellent video (and NOT from a US source, it seems...)- all on this thread should view it!
I have read (ironically) about these Islamic “policies” recently in a novel written by an English lady who was born in India during the British Raj - the main character is involved in the “Second” Afghan War fought in the end of the 19th century. As I was reading this, I was suddenly thrust into a lesson on Afghans, Islam, Sharia law and Tiqyaya (or whatever...) and it scared me to death!
Side note: went to the Post Office in my little country town today and while waiting in line, saw a lady dressed in muslim style - long dress and head covered.
And here I thought it would never come to my little town...
be very afraid!!!!!

“All Americans should read some of the Koran - down right chilling!”

Yes, it is, and it’s tough often being derided for stating that truth - I know. But we must keep doing it.

Also, thanks for using the (formerly common) spelling of the Koran. I’d even gone to using the “newer” one with the Q and apostrophe, but it’s a pain, so if Koran is still accepted spelling, I’ll go back to using that (it’s easier:)))))

Guess with the present political correctness AND seeming ignorance of so many, I’d wondered if those mindless masses thought Koran was oriental, even Korean! I’m serious.

Scary what we’re up against, isn’t it?

“And, thanks to the dopey voters of America, we have our first MOOOslim Prez who believes this stuff to the nth degree.”

I was shocked and dismayed when the first openly Muslim legislator at the national level was elected (Keith Ellison (D) Minnesota) who, by the way, wouldn’t swear in on the Bible, insisting on the Koran instead.

Election night of ‘08, I had a real meltdown, bursting into tears as they called the official results. Not ashamed to admit it here, thank you guys. I’d searched and learned enough over the many months prior that I knew full well he was a Muslim, and also the true tenets of that religion.

Had the pleasure of meeting and hearing Brigitte Gabriel speak here in KC and one of the things she warned about was the danger in allowing any Muslim to hold public office because their first (ultimate) allegiance will always be to the Koran/Mohammed’s directives.

So, any oath they take to first uphold and defend the Constitution is just an outright lie.

“Is it possible to get an English translation of the book that preserves the meaning of the original text?”

Good question. There’s been a lot of skullduggery with “translations” in the past. Let me know of any good direction you get on this. We could also post or email on a good website like Brigitte Gabriel’s or Pamela Geller’s - they’d know. I’d read one in the past, but don’t remember where it came from and now would love to have a keeper to carry with me.

On the sign in your picture - Death to All Juice.

Hmmmmm, I just couldn’t pass this one up :-)

Do they mean OJ (which kind), Jews (bad spelling) or Justice (downright dyslexic)???

“The experience confirmed for me that there are moderate and peaceful Muslims out there”

I’m sorry to sound like a hard-a** on this, but as I posted earlier, there are two categories of Muslims - a) those who choose to focus on (or cherry-pick, choose your term) that earlier part of the Koran written when a younger Mohammed talked about peace and getting along. It meshes with their choice of a comfortable life and assimilation, usually here, or b) those who abide by the later (larger) part of the Koran which supersedes the first, commanding violence, subjugation or death to all infidels until Islam reigns supreme over all the earth.

I agree that there are many, if not most, Muslims who fall into the first category and no doubt they’re nice people.

Just learn and know what the religion and its doctrine are about.

You know, in thinking further, I should be fair and include a possible third category of Muslim (perhaps those you mention fall into it) - they who are, or becoming, Christian at heart and just don’t know it yet. It’s got to be hard, even dangerous, for them in many ways.

I’m still hopeful, yet now understand the quote of Ronald Reagan - “trust but verify”.

“When a large group of people announces that it is their intention to kill or enslave you, it’s probably wise to take them at their word.”

Amen - and that’s why Israel will do whatever they must. They’ve resolved to survive.

Have we?

“Obama is at conflict within himself. A true Muslim would never espouse that he is a Christian.”

Oh, I beg to disagree - he’s in no conflict of personal belief. And the feeble lip-service to “being a Christian” is just that. (Loved his campaign protestations about it, saying he “prays to Jesus every night”. His slip of the tongue to Stephanopolous, saying “my muslim faith” and George S. quickly stepped in to correct him “you mean Christian”. Doesn’t celebrate Christmas, tried removing the time-honored nativity scene at the white house, hasn’t “found the right church yet” to attend in DC, didn’t even attend a church service (any church) at Easter, YET just gave a Ramadan dinner at the white house last week.

Come on. Publicly said that the most beautiful sound he ever heard is the sunset call to prayers. Tax-paid “outreach” to Muslim nations around the world. Sending the radical Ground Zero Mosque imam on a (tax-paid again) worldwide fund-raising mission, making it top priority for NASA to build Muslim self-esteem. Ad infinitum, etc., etc.

Again, the Koran endorses lying anytime, about anything, necessary to further the end goal of world domination.

This is all I’ll say on the subject (at least for now):-)

Remember this song? It sums things up better than anything.

The Snake

On her way to work one morning
Down the path along side the lake
A tender hearted woman saw a poor half frozen snake
His pretty colored skin had been all frosted with the dew
“Oh well,” she cried, “I’ll take you in and I’ll take care of you”
“Take me in oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven’s sake
Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake

She wrapped him up all cozy in a curvature of silk
And then laid him by the fireside with some honey and some milk
Now she hurried home from work that night as soon as she arrived
She found that pretty snake she’d taken in had been revived
“Take me in, oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven’s sake
Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake

Now she clutched him to her bosom, “You’re so beautiful,” she cried
“But if I hadn’t brought you in by now you might have died”
Now she stroked his pretty skin and then she kissed and held him tight
But instead of saying thanks, that snake gave her a vicious bite
“Take me in, oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven’s sake
Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake

“I saved you,” cried that woman
“And you’ve bit me even, why?
You know your bite is poisonous and now I’m going to die”
“Oh shut up, silly woman,” said the reptile with a grin
“You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in
“Take me in, oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven’s sake
Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake

Think about it.

Completely agree! Why the voters of America elect some of these buffoons is beyond me - the definite dumbing down of society. (Rush had a great spiel yesterday on the “new normal” we have today: Obama asking us to sacrifice yet jets off on multitudes of vaycays; JF Kerry telling us to tighten our belts but tries to tax dodge the yacht; etc. It was excellent...)
I don’t know about the “correct” spelling of Koran - am, too, sick of the PC.
And with a prez who thinks Austrians speak Austrian (Harvard magna, dontchaknow...), it wouldn’t surprise me abt Koreans and the Koran! Cheers!
