Of course, if we'd had to prove it we'd have grumbled and gone back to work.
We had a black guy who dressed up in a wig and women's clothes when he was off duty. This was way before Cpl Klinger on MASH.
One day the CO got us together and asked us whether we felt comfortable with a cross-dresser in the barracks. Everyone to a man said that it was just wrong. When the CO asked for specifics everybody pointed out that his makeup was horrible and that he was using too much foundation and his lipstick clashed with his eyes and skin tone. Then it was pointed out that he was just awful at accessorizing... he'd wear poka dot dresses with plaid handbags.
Then there was a heated argument, which I think was about whether heels or pumps were appropriate for evening wear. At some point the CO just walked off shaking his head.
Draftees, God bless ‘em. The CO was a draftee too.
You win the “Post of the Day” award!
Your post sounds like something out of a Mel Brooks film, or Monty Python.
More great and, typical, military humor. Thanks.
ROFL! Thanks for that post Brucifer. Keep’em coming and the book is gonna write itself. ;o)
p.s. - just got back from Hunt. They’ve moved stonehenge II from Hunt to Ingram. It’s just not the same.
