Why pick on just the “RINOs?” What did the conservatives/Conservatives or Republican of any stripe in the House do? Using your logic shouldn’t we be holding them all to account for the actions of the Dems too?
No one stood up for Delay, because the rules that Republicans set for themselves said that if you are under indictment you MUST step down.
The real problem, and the one that you are ignoring, is that the Democrats used the tactic of malicious prosecution to advance a political agenda. I asked him about the excess spending while he was in the House and he told me that if the Democrats had their way the Budget would have been 300 Billion more every year.
So much for the myth of the crazy spending under Bush. The Rats wanted more than the Republicans would give, but as soon as the Pelosi / Reid gang took over, they made it sound like they had nothing to do with any of the spending before they got there.
