Outrageous! I heard her comments on a replay of the radio show and I don't think it was any big deal. In fact I agreed with her. We are seeing just how toxic political correctness can be. First the feminists were after her, then the homosexuals and now the blacks.

Bingo!

Style and substance, the substance was right, she was on the right side of the issues, but her style? She came across too snooty, patronizing, condescending - at least to me.

Another conservative voice silenced.

Define conservative.

According to this article, Schlessinger wasn't a real conservative.

“[A blog article] supposes that I ever quoted Leviticus that homosexuality is an abomination. That never happened. I repeat: that never happened. I never said that. I don’t believe that…."

“In fact, I was one of the earliest radio hosts to support organizations such as PFLAG (you know, Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) and other efforts to encourage openness and acceptance of gays in their own families, much less society.” – Dr. Laura Schlessinger, “Setting My Record Straight about Gays,” June 22, 2010

“Another conservative voice silenced.”

No, simply an example of advertisers making a decision to no longer advertise on the Dr Laura Show.

And if you like, you are free to open your checkbook and keep Dr Laura on the air via advertising.

Please explain why you think she is a “hypocrite”.

I think the Woman simply uses common sense when advising people that can't see the forest for the trees. She is a self admitted former Feminist who made many mistakes in her youth. Dr. Laura is all about protecting Children from the selfish behavior of Adults who are responsible for them.

I hope you're not buying into the Liberal Logic that you cannot “judge” people because you made some mistakes at an earlier time of your life.

If that were true, many of the recovering Democrats / Liberals that now post on FR would fit your definition. While I may not agree with everything she says, being a “hypocrite” is not one of her character traits IMHO.

Earlier on she was very outspoken about homosexuality. Advertisers have all right-wing talkers by the balls to not criticize homosexuality.

Will Republicans take a pledge to uphold the Constitution and the 10 Commandments if elected this fall?

That's what people say who are fired. Her sponsors were pulling out. Her contract was up. She was politically-incorrect when it came to homosexuality.

Rush and Ann Coulter took another path. They capitulated. Schlessinger didn't, and now she's silenced.

Dr Laura is the best friend married men ever had on radio. You should have listened to her now and then. She could blast the socks off a complaining wife.

I think those hedging comments came after she was attacked a few years ago for her stand against homosexuality. She had to find something to pacify all the screaming herds. She;s always said that homosexuality is against God’s law and an unhealthy life-style.

I admire Dr. Laura and I think she does good work both for the people who call in and for educating the American public.

However...Personally, I don’t listen to her show. The callers are just so stupid, and after awhile it gets repetitive.

I agree. Her style may have been abrasive, but she understood marriage and family.

I stopped listening to her when she gave up her orthodox Jewish faith. It seemed like she based her morals and principles on her faith, and then one day just gave it up? Did she ever explain that?

Certainly no worse than most talk show hosts but it’s a matter of money. Either you attract big bucks or you drive them away.

I found the show mostly annoying with occasional bouts of discerning between gossip and real problems.

Of course there was that time where an older sister out of three siblings called to complain about ongoing abuse of the three, Dr. knew what what to do without hesitation.

In the long run, she probably helped more than hurt.

She’s whimping out. I don’t agree with insulting people with slurs, but I’m not sure that’s what she did. But she needs to stand up for herself.

Yes..."I am my kid's mom"

Thanks for posting that. Would somebody please explain why she says that. Is she defining herself here or what? H*ll, I'm my wife's husband, my sister's brother...

Never made any sense to me.
