I think those hedging comments came after she was attacked a few years ago for her stand against homosexuality. She had to find something to pacify all the screaming herds.

Yet the screaming herds are nowhere to be found when she needs them (loyalty isn't a word often used in the homosexual world).

She;s always said that homosexuality is against God’s law and an unhealthy life-style.

She sold out God and her conservative base when she gave into pressure from the left.

Good riddens Laura Schlessinger.

I have no idea either...I just posted it because that’s all I ever heard her say...before I turned the show off. Maybe something to do with modern-day mom’s dropping their kid’s off at daycare???

it’s a matter of money. Either you attract big bucks or you drive them away.

In the past few years it's become obvious that homosexuality trumps even the profit margin. How else to explain movies like "The Kids are Alright?"

I wonder if those who decided not to renew her contract were more "sympathetic" to the gay agenda than Schlessinger?

That’s likely what she meant.

I go across the radio dial at night and sometimes find her show on 760 (WJR, Detroit). Occasionally, I would listen in, just to shake my head in bewilderment. Here we are, in a major economic crisis, the Democrats are doing all they can to ruin any business recovery, the government is trying to steal away our liberties, etc. and these women are calling in about their inconsequential relationships. They seem oblivious to everything else going on.

It makes me want to tear my hair out.

I feel the same way when listening to people talk about American Idol, Dancing with the...whoever they are, and ALL (so-called)reality TV....what a waste of brain mass.

WJR listener? Same here, though I can do without hearing about Frank Beckmann's latest golf game.

Wonder what Mark Scott(WXYT)would have thought about what's going on in the world today?

She never stuck me as being accommodating to the homosexual crowd just exercising tolerance with them.

Always seemed a bit lost herself but aren’t we all.

“I’m my kids mom.” Went toward anyone who thought staying at home and raising kids was demeaning in someway. Like, there is something wrong with raising your own kids.

Most well adjusted people didn’t need to listen to her to begin with. There again, others require shrinks to get over those bumps in life.

Very discouraging. I thought much of what she said was dead-on, and I am sick of black activists ignoring the “n-word” use in hip-hop and rap and everyday black use, while becoming absurd drama queens when it is use by whites, even when they are just making a point. I wish she had stuck it out. She survived the fudge packers, who not the race-baiters?

Her show is boring as hell, listen for a week and you will have basically heard everything. Plus, she lost lots of affiliates and wasn’t adding much in the ratings.

I always found her to be a sanctimonious prig.

I actually called Dr. Laura once.

I had been approached by my step-brother ( who I hadn't seen in years ) who told me I might be contacted by people doing a background check on him. He stressed this was very important to him in obtaining a post in a sensitive government job.

Problem was, I knew some things about him that would NOT recommend him to such a position.

I didn't know what to do. So, I called Dr. Laura.

She said, "Tell him, 'If there are things I know about you that you don't want other people to know, don't have them call me.'"

Frankly, that was one of the most sane and simple pieces of advice I've ever received.

“Dr. Laura is all about protecting Children from the selfish behavior of Adults who are responsible for them.”
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Huh? Would you mind taking a minute to explain exactly what that means? Thank you.

Sure.

Dr. Laura gets calls from Parents who do stupid things, (affairs, drinking, gambling, pornography, you name it), without realizing or caring how it affects their children. In other words, people too self absorbed to see the damage they are doing to their families.

She advises those people to put the effort in to save their Marriages so the children aren't affected by the drama. She tells them to sacrifice their selfish motives until the children are up and out of the house, with the idea that those same people will do what is necessary to fulfill their Marriage Vows and their responsibility in raising their children without causing them harm.

Unlike the Democrat Party, Dr. Laura really cares about the children.

“So did she actually use the n-word offensively or did she just say the n-word when discussing the n-word?”

To be white and to say or type the word “nigger” is now a crime punishable by death.

Whitey must learn his place in society now. You all should know by now that language is a priviledge granted by your betters, not a right.

The Language Police will show up at your door to collect you should you even whisper an outlawed word or phrase.

Welcome to Amerika 2010.

Thanks for responding. I understand she wants to stick up for children but the kids aren’t calling, it’s the parents. Ergo, the parents are calling for help with their children and their life problems.

I guess I’m trying to say that ALL the callers are someones children and they need help, so what makes Dr. Laura so into one generation of kids as opposed to the previous generation? IOW, she doesn’t seem to address a multi-generational thing.

Never did care for her confrontationalism when I heard her in L.A. She once called a young girl a whore and that was my last talk radio listening with her. I changed the station to C&W music. BTW, that was in the early 2000’s.........
