ANAHEIM, Calif. – A Muslim woman who works as a hostess at a Disneyland restaurant alleged Wednesday the theme park would not allow her to appear in front of customers while wearing her head scarf.
Imane Boudlal, 26, appeared outside the resort's Grand Californian Hotel after filing a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
She said when she wore the hijab to work Sunday, her supervisors told her to remove it, work where customers couldn't see her, or go home.
Boudlal, who wore the scarf in observance of Ramadan, chose to go home but reported to work for the next two days and was told the same thing.
"Miss Boudlal has effectively understood that they're not interested in accommodating her request either in timing or good faith," said Ameena Qazi, an attorney from the Council on American-Islamic Relations who is consulting with Boudlal...

YEars ago (in college) I worked for Disney at a park and we were all called CAST MEMBERS. We were all required to wear our COSTUMES. LEGALLY Disney could enforce every bit of our appearance because we were in costume.

I've been to Disneyland many times and was going to make just that point.
Can't have every employee making up his own theme. That would be total chaos.

Can you imagine the number of law suits that the Ground Zero Mosque will be filing, to get everyone to accomadate their presence. No walking on the sidewalk by the Mosque if you are not a Muslim. No talking or singing near the Mosque. No traffic on the street during certain hours. Who knows? Anything to stick it in your eye.

As a former Disneyland employee (I met my husband there!), the selfish, self-centered attitude this woman has makes me nuts. She knew there was a strict dress code — for *every* Disney employee — when she applied.

Disneyland has won more than 1 lawsuit on the topic of employees being told how to dress.
The entire park is considered “theatre-type entertainment” & employees are told how long their hair should be, how clean shaven they must be, and other requirements regarding makeup-along with dress codes.

Disneyland doesn't lose any lawsuits. You never want to go up against them because they ALWAYS win.
