With Brett Favre’s Return, Vikings Ticket Prices Soar on Secondary Market

Having Brett Favre on your home team may cause you heartburn, what with all the retiring/unretiring talk, but when he does finally settle in and say, “I’m coming back” fans gobble up tickets at an incredible rate.

With Favre now returning to the Minnesota Vikings after his ankle surgery, ticket sales on the secondary resale market have (once again) skyrocketed, up an average of $50 per ticket for home games at the Metrodome, according to ticket search engine company, FanSnap.

Leading the way for home games are tickets for Favre’s former team, the Green Bay Packers which are averaging an asking price of $230. But, that’s nothing compared to away games. When Favre and the Vikings visit the Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints, tickets are running for an asking average price on the secondary market at $587.

Here’s how ticket sales have ebbed and flowed depending on whether Favre was retiring or not this off-season for the Vikings

Having Brett return is the equivalent of the Hershcel Walker trade. The Vikings' backup QBs are worthless. They spent $20 million on a 40-year-old QB who has throw 3 consecutive interceptions to end the season.

I can't wait for the season to start. Aaron Rodgers is going to haul ass this year.

I hope the Vikings are rewarded by his return with about a 30 int / 15 td ratio, and toss in a half dozen or more fumbles. What a putz!

Thanks.

I will stick with LAMBEAU FIELD. It’s a real football stadium, unlike that dump in Minnesoda.

Favre....

I'm still trying to figger out how he chose his name pronunciation, FWIW.

Word on the street is that his granddaddy's name was "Typo".

It’s that 4th down and long moment...when you know you’ve got Favre, and then he tosses a 30-year pass, then you feel this lump in your throat.

Hadn’t seen that flick in years.

Going to see if I can hustle that up....with some popcorn and iced tea (tons of Lemon).

I’m sick of Favre...but I hope he does well...actually I hope he is outstanding to shut people up about his age. Yes, he’s been sort of a joke because of his retired/not retired stance but I still hope he kicks ass. That would be inspiring....and personally, I could use a little inspiration from somewhere.

Farve’s ego won’t let him walk away...I fear a massive hit that will force him out.
