25 year old Marine killed in Afghanistan...huge funeral turnout...no MSM
self | August 19, 2010 | Viet Nam vet

Kristopher Greer, a 25-yr old Marine from our small community in Tennessee was killed in Afghanistan on August 8. His funeral was yesterday. Attendance at the funeral was remarkable. The highway was blocked, no parking spaces left at the church, had to walk or take a shuttle. It appeared as if the entire community was there plus many others from all around. You could not get into the service. Although his death is the saddest thing that can happen to a family and a community, it was overwhelming to see the Welcome Home he got and the way the entire community supported his family and his service. I heard it said that in a conversation his Grandmother said "how can we repay all these people for what they have done for us?" The person replied, "Kristopher has already paid it".

What a change from our time (Viet Nam). Even if people are against the war(s), they respect and support the troops. That is a good thing.

The MSM has not earned a right to be there, in my opinion.

It is the alternative media that does; and it is represented even by you and your post here on FR.

We had a Marine return here in Jacksonville area yesterday. He lost both legs and and arm, but literally hundreds of locals showed out to wave flags and cheer as he came home from the hospital, you could tell he was overwhealemed by the response.Local TV media gave it pretty good coverage.
Good to see patriotism is still alive and well in OBAMAVILLE.

The MSM should be handled as an enemy. You do not hear a death count since the anointed one took over either. God rest this true American’s soul and may he damn the President and press.

The MSM may have a right to be there, but their absence is just one small part of why I don't follow the the MSM.

When their advertising budget goes to zero, so do they.

I have no problem with them asking if I'd like my order "supersized" after that. Failure is failure, and maybe next time they can find an honest profession. Such as asking me asking if I'd like my order "supersized." (No I would not, thank you.)

“When their advertising budget goes to zero, so do they. “

Yes, let them labor their way into oblivion. The MSM is not worthy to be the paper of record of this nation.

You do not hear a death count since the anointed one took over because since he put in his new ROE (Rules of Engagement) that ties our soldiers hands - not allowing them to defend themselves - our KIA’s have doubled - each month the count has been like the first year.

His strategy is to protect the Taliban over our troops.

Here's’ one example:

The person replied, "Kristopher has already paid it".

His community understands the value of this young Marine's sacrifice. The anti-American MSM couldn't care less.

RIP, Kristopher Greer.

As far as I’m concerned the MSM hasn’t earned the right to be toilet paper.

That’s how it was when our neighbor boy — well, not a boy, he was 24 — neighbor’s son was killed in Afghanistan. The whole town turned out, lined the streets as the funeral procession passed by.

Most all of us waved flags but in total silence. I have never heard such a complete pause.

So sad. But I think guys like him are standing in the gap for us and maybe when my boys are military age, they won’t be in a hot war.
