It’s getting to the point where we need to go to the Mexican government and tell them, if they don’t do something with the drug cartels, we will.

We past that point decades ago.  The Mexican government is just as corrupt as our government which is why you see a ramp up of activity south of the border and they're bold enough to want to spill the violence on this side of the border.  The governments on both sides of the border may be so corrupt that they're actually quietly encouraging the violence.

Yep. It's getting to the point -- long past the point --where we need to seal the border and treat it as a militarized zone so that what happens in Mexico stays in Mexico. Period. But if it comes into our no-man's land, it dies.

Interesing how most other countries in the world have no problem understanding when their border security requires military intervention. Example:
