Media Collusion Alive And Well in America
Many Sources | 8/22/2010 | By Lazamataz

Posted on 08/22/2010 5:19:47 PM PDT by Lazamataz

This last summer, it was widely (and embarassingly) reported that a shadowy internet group had formed with the intent to 'discuss' (read: orchestrate, collude, plan and slant) the news. This group of approximately 400 journalist from many different 'media' outlets had met regularly to decide on what -- and how -- the news would be presented. From WikiPedia:

JournoList (sometimes referred to as the J-List)[1] was a private Google Groups forum for discussing politics and the news media with 400 journalists, academics and others, all with political views ranging from centrist to center-left to leftist. Ezra Klein, an American blogger for the Washington Post and a columnist for Newsweek, created the online forum in February 2007 and shut it down in June 2010. >
It appears that, although the Google Groups forum was disbanded, that many media types are meeting and colluding again. How else can you explain the similarity in assumptions (and nearly-identical wording, in many cases) of the lead sentence, or sometimes even the headline, of the following articles?

Note how they all inject a judgment call ('incorrectly', or 'wrongly'), in their so-called news reporting. They all, and at the same time, present a prejudicial term, as if to say, "Everyone already KNOWS how wrong they are and how right we are."

Now, I suppose it is POSSIBLE that many media outlets came up with nearly the exact same meme at the exact same time. It is also possible that one article circulated with minor alterations, to be repeatedly published.

But I have seen the JournoList before, and have read their emails whereinwhich they colluded to present a unified front on how things were to be phrased.

I can no longer assume random chance, when malice and planning have been demonstrated before.

So I have noticed. But I believe it is true collusion, and that the JournoList is alive and well by other names.

Goebbels would be sooooo proud!

It was worse in the late 60's and 70's. As a kid, it was a peculiar habit of mine to rapidly spin the TV dial during the 600 news, ro observe all three major news networks reporting the EXACT same news at the EXACT same time. I used to like to try to make them complete each other's sentences.

ArabNews was among the offenders in the above citations, dropped only because they used AP directly. AP was already cited.

That is the AP(associated propagandists) reason for being. It's what they do.

They’re stunningly transparent.

When I started researching JournoList, I was surprised to find that they were not embarrassed by their collusion. They were proud of it. It’s as if they proclaimed:

“I was a member of JournoList. I helped define the media’s narrative and set the progressive agenda.”

But I believe it is true collusion, and that the JournoList is alive and well by other names.

It is. Three members of JournoList formed Cabalist when Ezra Klein shut down JournoList. At least 173 of the J-listers joined Cabalist. Now that their collusion has been outted, they see no reason to hide it.

The old media realize that their market has been reduced to the hard left wing of the American body politic, and they cling to that last thread. Those seven figure salaries will soon be gone, but the old timers have made theirs, and will ride the diminishing gravy train to the bitter end.

Even MSNBC’s Morning Joe replaced a worn out radio program, and the radio program was far superior to Joe and Mika.

In Japan it’s called “Kisshya Kai” —press cartel. Membership is formal, non-members physically excluded.

They get 2gether after, say, the meeting with the press conference with the cabinet member and then they DECIDE what was said, who will report what, and when.

The upshot is that everyone feels realllly professional, and they end up beholden to their sources —they are de-facto extensions of “the system”.

Scandals end up reported by all, yes, but the critical detail is that they’re always BROKEN by the “alien space baby”-rag with the gurabia photos of the girl with her books exploding out of her impossibly tiny bikini top.

If you want the REAL Jap news, read the whore rags.

SAMIZDAT —coming to the USA soon.

The result you can see -- most of the people who graduated in the 60's, dropouts or half-baked intellectuals, are now occupying the positions of power in the government, civil service, business, mass media, and educational systems. You are stuck with them. You can't get rid of to them. They are contaminated. They are programmed to think and react to certain stimuli in a certain pattern [alluding to Pavlov]. You can not change their mind even if you expose them to authentic information. Even if you prove that white is white and black is black, you still can not change the basic perception and the logic of behavior.

In other words [for] these people the process of demoralization is complete and irreversible. To rid society of these people you need another 15 or 20 years to educate a new generation of patriotically minded and common sense people who would be acting in favor and in the interests of United States society.

The big issue with modern media is the fact that they all watch each others broadcast to cover the same stories. They been doing this for many decades. The Result has been for decades almost uniformly a leftist native in both story selection and story presentation. Majority garbage in majority garbage out.

It really doesn’t matter how much many of the presenters “tried” to be impartial they were getting their information and stories from folk that tended not to be by majority in favor of liberals.

Now we got Conservative news out-lits on the seen doing conservative journalism and the liberals are suddenly in a pant. Where as once the traditional lines of collusion were effective in controlling the message now they must develop secondary lines.

The Big new comer in cable news here is people like Glenn Beck who is actually introducing tones of new conservative orientated stories and content whereas previously even in Fox news the commentators have been predisposed to mostly just cover what everyone else was covering.
