Judge Forces Obama Admin to Stop Funding Embryonic Stem Cell Research

Washington, DC -- A federal judge on Monday issued a decision forcing the Obama administration to stop funding embryonic stem cell research with taxpayer funds. The judge ruled the executive order Obama issued allowing such funding contravened a federal law prohibiting taxpayer funding of the destruction of human embryos.

The law didn’t stop Obama from breaking it. Why would a judge’s order? Obama will continue to steer taxpayer money into destroying embryos regardless of what any judge says. His contempt for the rule of law is unparalleled.

It is great news, but I have no doubt that Zero will ignore the ruling.

The irony is that there has NEVER been a ban on privately-funded research on embryonic stem cells. The FACT is that private corporations aren’t putting a penny into ESC research because they know that it is a waste of money. On the other hand, they ARE pouring billions into adult (including umbilical cord) stem cell research and are reaping the rewards. Adult stem cells have successfully been employed in treating over six dozen conditions.

The VA AG smacked abortion clinics in VA today too. naral is howling like banshees already and the governor hasn’t even signed off on it yet, but he will because it is written within the strict guidelines of the federal ruling on abortion. It is a good day to celebrate life.
Keep praying. We are finally winning some battles.

So an EO banning federal funds being used for abortion would be illegal also.

Wasn't Royce Lamberth one of Clinton's greatest stumbling blocks? I can't remember the details, but this judge was huge in stopping Clinton's agenda.

Not to mention the fact that embryonic stem cell research has produced nothing of value. Adult stem cell research holds promise, although you will notice news stories usually just refer to “stem cell research” when reporting positive results, hoping to confuse the sheeple.

Embryonic stem cell research is not science. It’s a means to promote abortion and make it acceptable to the public by promising to cure them of their ills.

Judge Lamberth. He’s one of the few decent judges around.

~~~
He sure is ... appointed by dear Pres. Reagan.
“The language of the statute reflects the unambiguous intent of Congress to enact a broad prohibition of funding research in which a human embryo is destroyed,” Lamberth wrote in the decision.
“This prohibition encompasses all “research in which an embryo is destroyed, not just the ‘piece of research’ in which the embryo is destroyed.”
The ruling also broadly concludes that the research, also known as ESC, depends on the destruction of a human embryo, and that research derived from embryonic stem cells is also subject to regulation under the Wicker Amendment.
“[Embryonic stem cell] research is clearly research in which an embryo is destroyed,” the ruling said. “Thus, ESC research necessarily depends upon the destruction of a human embryo. Despite defendants’ attempts to separate the derivation of ESCs from research on the ESCs, the two cannot be separated.”
