Former GOP presidential contender and potential 2012 candidate Mike Huckabee said Wednesday that he does not support a repeal of the 14th Amendment -- a part of the Constitution other Republican leaders have called into question recently because it guarantees citizenship for children born in the United States, regardless of their parents' immigration status.
Huckabee said in an interview Wednesday that he does not support a repeal, NPR reports.
While the former Arkansas governor said, "I'm not for an amnesty program," he added, "You do not punish a child for something the parent did."

Huckabee told NPR that the nation is better off giving all children opportunities to succeed as citizens, even if they were not born in the United States.
"The question is: Is [an undocumented child born outside of the U.S.] better off going to college and becoming a neurosurgeon or a banker or whatever he might become, and becoming a taxpayer, and in the process having to apply for and achieve citizenship, or should we make him pick tomatoes?" Huckabee said. "I think it's better if he goes to college and becomes a citizen."

Huckabee is one of those dangerous types because he's uninformed. First, the 14 Amendment does not have to be repealed, LINK as pointed out and explained by our late Congressman BillyBob.
Secondly, Huckabee is trying to play both sides because he still has presidential ambitions. Huckabee could teach a cat how to sit on a fence.

Please, let’s not start that pointless argument again. It doesn’t and it never did. Read the writings of its author. The fact that the court got it wrong over a hundred years ago doesn’t change why the amendment was written or how it has been twisted into something entirely different.

2012 will be between two women: Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin. Obama's job was to ram Nationalized Health Care through, but at a cost- a single term, which you can bet was negotiated with Bill and Hill. Her resume awaits.
The collateral damage this ill-prepared and inexperienced fraud imposes on this country will guarantee a single term. (The Clintons don't care what happens to us, but what happens to them 'cause it's all about power, wealth, and priviledge).
If, and that's a big, damn IF, we can get through the next two years without some major social or global cataclysmic event this is how it's going to play out. A Wellesleyian Marxist, Alynskiite vs. a pro life, pro second ammendment mother of five and former governor of Alaska. Huckabee, Gingrich, and Romney should throw whatever support they have behind Sarah yesterday. That's how dire the situation is in America today.
Of course, with two women at the top of the ticket, women will be turning out in record numbers, but they would have anyway. Because families and children are at risk in today's big-government-cures-all enviornment where jobs are scarce and feeding a family becomes increasingly more difficult and you'd have to win the lottery to afford health care.(not that government meddling has anything to do with that)

The Professional Left owns the media (except Fox and a few others) and will spare nothing to destroy whoever runs against their choice in '012.

If it is not appropriate or logical to "punish" a child for something the parents did, it is also not appropriate or logical to reward the children for the actions of their parents. Tom Osborne (the former Nebraska football coach) was a Congressmen for Nebraska, until he came out for a similar thing.
