McCain tipped for easy win in Arizona primary (as RINOs surging over Tea Partiers) (BARF ALERT)

PHOENIX, Arizona (AFP) — Senator John McCain appears set to romp home in Arizona's Republican primary, but only after tacking right and spending millions of dollars to counter a threat from a former conservative radio show host.

Voters also head to the polls Tuesday for primary elections in Florida, Vermont and Alaska and results are being closely watched as a litmus test of the anti-incumbent mood in the run up to mid-term elections in November.

Results such as Arizona may predict whether insurgent candidates, especially Republicans backed by staunchly anti-government Tea Party groups, will continue to make advances over those with more moderate views.

"So [McCain] is part of the Tea Party movement."

Did she write all that on one hand?

If McCain wins, I’ll do my own Arizona boycott. How can the voters of Arizona be so stupid?

So it's all Palin's doing? No responsibility on JD whatsoever?

Brilliant thinking!

I don’t blame Palin if McCain wins. I blame the voters.

The AZ GOP opted for open primaries. Yes, you can blame it on the leftist primary voters because liberals will swarm the Republican primary to put mccain over the top.

If it was a closed primary, JD would walk away with it.

Blame the RINOs in the GOP before you blame AZ conservatives, though.

So it's all Palin's doing?

Hardly. There's lots of RINOs shilling for McCain.

Pretty narrow thinking.

Oh come now, we all know his brilliant insights into political matters...............you know, like trying to get people to vote for Chuck Baldwin........

Breeelliant!

You should tell that to rabs. He likes to think it's all Palin's fault. At least, that's the only one he ever talks about!

Does the tea party candidate have a snowballs chance at beating mccain or the democrat?

The Democrat, probably. McCain, no. Not since Palin stuck her oar in.

Not just Chuck Baldwin. There's RP, too. I see he likes the Hamasque at Ground Zero!

Another brilliant candidate!

Palin isn’t responsible for McCain getting re-elected. The people of Arizona are. If you want to play the guilt game, blame yourself. You voted for him for PRESIDENT, where he could have done a lot more “damage” than he could as senator.

Well, let's hope JD pulls off a stunner, I guess we'll know tonight some time.

Palin isn’t responsible for McCain getting re-elected.

So her endorsements of candidates are really nothing more than headline chasing and self-aggrandizement?

You may be right.

Actually it was worse......he voted for “US black ops caused the Haitian earthquake” Chuck Baldwin. Ron Paul endorsed him is the probable reason.......

Who said that? Oh another Palin hater. Yawn. I am sure you are one who says her endorsements are the kiss of death. Sarah Palin is not the enemy of anyone here at Free Republic. Take a look at her record. If you are throwing someone with that record under the bus because she supports the man who made her a household name, then you are the problem, not her.

We have the same problem here in Indiana with Dicky Lugar. He is only different than McCain because he isn’t a media seeker. He is a stealthy RINO that I am positive voted for Obama.

Most people that are conservatives here despise him. The problem is that he always gets the backing of the national GOP and he has personal wealth.

It is hard to find a person to run against him because they see getting the same result that Hayworth is having.

Who said that?

Make up your mind. Will Palin's endorsement help elect McCain or is it worthless?

You can't have it both ways.

Actually you can. When one candidate is so far ahead of the other, as in this case, it doesn’t matter. On the other hand, when you back a candidate that has little chance and when election day comes and they lose by 1%, then her endorsement does help. I am not defending McCain, I don’t like him, but to blame Sarah Palin for John McCain is ridiculous and to throw her under the bus for supporting him is plain stupid. Again, look at her record. Blame Mitt Romney, he supports McCain. It’s his fault.

No , it was her way of saying thank you. When he asked for her support, had she said no, I’d bet that you would have been the first one here calling her an ingrate. Some people look for the worst in others. Look at her record as an elected executive. It’s stellar. She’s the kind of politician we all say we want, a fiscal conservative, for small government, anti corruption , willing to risk everything . She’s not the enemy.

BTW, Hayworth hadn’t announced that he was running we she came out for McCain.
