Flame me I don’t care.
If I live in that state, I’d go ahead and vote for the Democrat over Juan.

I just checked the results. 1.5% of the precincts have reported. It doesn’t look good - but it’s not over yet, either. Still praying for a dark horse victory for JD.
To: Psycho_Bunny
If we can’t see what McCain is and defeat him,
I’m worried about November.

Amen. Everyone I know voted for Hayworth and I can’t imagine any of them voting for McCain in November.

I would as well.
At least a Democrat would be up front about being bought and paid for by Soros & the Open Society Project.

Nope, here's what I don't get. Are Republicans stupid? Uninformed? Isn't this the state that drew a line in the sand on the border issue? Didn't they just renew McAmnesty? There is no hope for this country, none.

Help! I am caught in Friday the 13th. He won't go away. He just keeps on being Juan.
I am willing to bet a lot of Dems voted for McCain in the primary if that is allowed in AZ. They know he is soft on amnesty, no matter the noises he has been making to the contrary.

Well, I do live in the state and I may do just that. I cast my last vote for McCain in 2008... won’t do it again.
To: Scythian
I hope these results are wrong.Otherwise Arizona,Thanks for nothing.Your going to have to live with the decisions RINO McCain makes.
To: Scythian
The results are from only 11% of the votes, if I’m reading it correctly. Looks like a lot more votes to be counted.
To: Minus_The_Bear

Not true, McCain spent 20-1 over JD, but more than that... I told everyone before JD even through his hat in the ring — something BTW Freepers were BEGGING him to do — that John McCain OWNS the Arizona GOP...... if he had run his presidential bid with the same scorched earth he ran this campaign he might be president right now.
To: Scythian
So the average voter in AZ thinks McCain is a good idea?

Chill out.
There are a number of conflating factors.
In no particular order:
1) McCain spent $20 million of his 2008 campaign money (which he should have used to defeat Teh One).
2) He flooded the airwaves with ads.
3) He had the Palin endorsement.
4) JD is not an outsider -- he had served in Congress for 12 years before losing and going into talk radio.
5) JD has a reputation as a lover of pork.
6) AZ allows independents to vote in GOP primaries IIRC.
7) McCain has name recognition
8) McCain ran hard RIGHT to the campaign.
And Fox has been in the tank for McCain: right now according to the AZ Secretary of State page, 17% of ballots have been cast and McCain leads 199,060 to 99,498 with Jim Deakin pulling in 38,579. Recall that Al Franken won in MN due to a 3-way race with the third guy pulling in 14% of the vote...
NO Cheers, unfortunately.

To: Marmolade
It will take a miracle for JD to win now, even with only 11% in, he only has 26% of the vote, McCain has over 60%. Sad to say but I would say McCain has won, barring a complete miracle.

Any guesses as to how long it will take him to once again take his RINO, hands across the aisle stance?
