Ann Coulter: MSNBC SWEARS TO ALLAH THAT OBAMA'S NOT A MUSLIM (Calling B.H.O's Daddy a Liar???)

MSNBC SWEARS TO ALLAH THAT OBAMA'S NOT A MUSLIM
August 25, 2010

MSNBC's Monday programming was dedicated to denouncing Sen. Mitch McConnell's response to a question about whether Obama is a Muslim.

McConnell said: "We all have to rely on the word of (Barack Obama) -- something about as reliable as a credit default swap."

No, I'm sorry, that's what The Atlantic's Andrew Sullivan said about whether Trig Palin was really Sarah Palin's child.

McConnell responded by demanding that Obama be fired -- or at least have his security clearance suspended.

No, no -- wrong again: That was Sen. John Kerry and Sen. Chuck Schumer, respectively, not taking Karl Rove at his word when he said he had not released Valerie Plame's name to the press. (It turned out Rove was telling the truth; it was Richard Armitage, and it wasn't a crime.)

What McConnell actually said in response to the Muslim question was: "The president says he's a Christian. I take him at his word. I don't think that's in dispute."

Over at MSNBC, that's Republican code for: "He's a Muslim!"

North Korean TV's Ed Schultz hysterically babbled: "McConnell gave cover. That's what he did. He gave cover to all those low information voters out there who still believe this garbage about President Obama being a Muslim. ... The Republican leadership just loves to feed the fire."

Chris Matthews was so impressed with Schultz's nonsensical argument that he spent the entire hour on NKTV's "Hardball" making the same one: McConnell had expressed insufficient fervor when he said he believed Obama was a Christian! (Perhaps if McConnell had added something about a thrill running up his leg ...)

The statement "I take him at his word," Matthews said, was a "pitch-perfect dog whistle to the haters." He continued: "Yes, sure, whatever he says. Right. This is not about belief. It's an accusation that President Obama is not one of us. The right wing's attempt to de-Americanize the president."

What else is there besides Obama's word? If Obama suddenly announced that he was a Muslim -- or a Buddhist -- what evidence would Matthews cite to prove him wrong?

Meanwhile, liberals absolutely refuse to take Republicans at their word when they identify their own children. Or deny leaking a low-level CIA functionary's name to the press.

Or when they deny they are racists.

Accusations of racism apparently do not require the ironclad proof demanded for accusations that someone is a Muslim.

And there's a lot more evidence that Obama's a Muslim than Republicans are racists. Let's compare:

Obama daddy was a muslim, therefore Obama a muslim. All one needs to do is ask any muslim, because they all know Obama one of them.

And, for anyone who HASN'T been keeping up with the ongoing homocon saga:

Has Coulter come out in favor of gay marriage?

No.

From an email that Ann sent to The Daily Caller just after this story broke:

...also, FYI; my fellow evangelicals — and I know lots and lots of ‘em — – all think it’s great that I’m doing this.

(of course, they know I’m not changing my mind on gay marriage even though I like gays.)

Ann Coulter’s deliciously barbed mockery of liberal idiots like Ed Schultz and Chrissy Matthews makes these guys bearable to have around, even if I never watch any of them. They serve as easy targets that Ann can skewer and by doing so, she pointedly demonstrates their foolishness, mendacity and hypocrisy as well as their general insanity. Thanks Ann!

Obama was born a muslim, and for part of his life he was raised as a muslim. Now if he says he rejected Islam I don't have proof otherwise. Neither do I believe he is a Christian.

It is my belief that Obama is a narcissist...so he is his own god.

WND editor appears on gay-themed radio show to blast Ann Coulter for speaking to gay conservatives

For a guy who says he plans to fight “the homosexual agenda” “until the last breath” and thinks God will “collapse” America for accepting gay marriage, WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah sure has been doing a lot of gay media lately. Farah appeared on two radio shows that are hosted by gay talk show personalities this week to blast Ann Coulter for headlining an upcoming party sponsored by GOProud, an organization that represents gay conservatives.
Just using his logic, didn't he say that Coulter is a screaming lesbian supporting....er, I mean that Coulter supports the homosexual agenda because she is speaking to a bunch of "those people?" Who little Joey is talking to also! He is sooooo GHEY!

Great minds think alike!

I was actually going to use that concept to defend Ann in a post earlier today...

Turns out that is was popularized by Mahatma Gandhi...
...and there is some doubt as to whether this idea is truly based on SCRIPTURAL teaching. :(

I don't think Obama is a Muslim. I don't think he is a Christian. I can believe some Muslims consider him to be one if a somewhat estranged one, simply because his father was Muslim and he went to a Muslim school.

I think it's more likely that his religious views more closely match his mother's in being an atheist, or at least an agnostic. His religion is big government.

No need to disparage poor Joseph Farah -- matching wits with Ann is WAY "above his pay grade." :o)
And, to be fair, while going on gay radio certainly seems hypocritical, it is NOT really the same as Ann's allowing her image (and words) to be used to promote Homocon.
As I posted on that other thread, I'm actually not crazy about her being the "poster girl" for Homocon -- but I understand that Ann knows how to cut through the media clutter like NO ONE can...
...so the message that she DOES deliver there next month will get almost universal coverage.
As Mark Steyn said so much more eloquently than I ever could, you may not always agree with Ann's emotion-inducing TACTICS...
...but it's hard to argue with the RESULTS that she gets for our side.

...and there is some doubt as to whether this idea is truly based on SCRIPTURAL teaching. :(

Romans 5:8 - God demonstrated His love for us in that WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, Christ died for us (empahasis added).

Scriptural admonitions regarding love and hate include:
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
Love them that hate you and pray for them that spitefully use you.
As I have loved you, so you should love one another.
Love your enemies.

So, even though the phrase "love the sinner, hate the sin" is not scriptural in origin, the PRINCIPLE of despising the sin, rejecting the sin, refusing to condone the sin, all while extending the Love of God to the sinner can hardly be called unscriptural.

My point is that he is considered a muslim because his father was a muslim, and enrolled him in school with religion marked “muslim.”

While valid in an acedemic sense, it doesn't mean much in a practical sense.

What people are really concerned about is does he follow the muslim faith now. Do his religious beliefs effect his current decisions.

The religious beliefs of his father may determine his religion as far as some followers of Islam are concerned, but it doesn't necessarily have much bearing on his own beliefs decades later.

Accurate, but misleading doesn't sit well with me.

Good questions!

Let's ask some people who might know: his allegedly "fellow" Muslims -- from THIS thread:

My Muslim President Obama: Why members of the Islamic faith see him as one of the flock.
Forbes ^ | February 25, 2009 | Asma Gull Hasan

Posted on Saturday, August 21, 2010 11:30:22 PM by 2ndDivisionVet

I know President Obama is not Muslim, but I am tempted nevertheless to think that he is, as are most Muslims I know.

In a very unscientific oral poll, ranging from family members to Muslim acquaintances, many of us feel, just as African-Americans did for the non-black but culturally leaning African-American President Bill Clinton, that we have our first American Muslim president in Barack Hussein Obama.

I know it's odd to say this. At first, I thought I was the only Muslim engaging in this folly, and I am reluctant to express it lest right-wing zealots try to use "Muslim" as a smear and cite my theory as proof of an Islamic traitor in the White House or some such nonsense.

But, since Election Day, I have been part of more and more conversations with Muslims in which it was either offhandedly agreed that Obama is Muslim or enthusiastically blurted out. In commenting on our new president, "I have to support my fellow Muslim brother," would slip out of my mouth before I had a chance to think twice.

"Well, I know he's not really Muslim," I would quickly add. But if the person I was talking to was Muslim, they would say, "yes he is."

They would cite his open nature and habit of reaching out to critics, reminiscent of the Prophet Muhammad's own approach, and also Obama's middle name, Hussein. Most of the Muslims I know (me included) can't seem to accept that Obama is not Muslim.

Of the few Muslims I polled who said that Obama is not Muslim, even they conceded that he had ties to Islam. These realists said that, although not an avowed and practicing Muslim, Obama's exposure to Islam at a young age (both through his father and his stint in Indonesia)

Well, it's Ramadan, and he's not exactly fasting ...

... and he has been known to eat pork ...

From www.islamreview.com:
The principle of Al-Takeyya

The Arabic word, "Takeyya", means "to prevent," or guard against.

The principle of Al Takeyya conveys the understanding that Muslims are permitted to lie as a preventive measure against anticipated harm to one's self or fellow Muslims. This principle gives Muslims the liberty to lie under circumstances that they perceive as life threatening. They can even deny the faith, if they do not mean it in their hearts. Al-Takeyya is based on the following Quranic verse:

"Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah: except by way of precaution (prevention), that ye may Guard yourselves from them (prevent them from harming you.) But Allah cautions you (To remember) Himself; for the final goal is to Allah." Surah 3: 28
According to this verse a Muslim can pretend to befriend infidels (in violation of the teachings of Islam) and display adherence with their unbelief to prevent them from harming him.

Under the concept of Takeyya and short of killing another human being, if under the threat of force, it is legitimate for Muslims to act contrary to their faith. The following actions are acceptable:

  • Drink wine, abandon prayers, and skip fasting during Ramadan.
  • Renounce belief in Allah.
  • Kneel in homage to a deity other than Allah.
  • Utter insincere oaths.

e-mail from Ann: (of course, they know I’m not changing my mind on gay marriage even though I like gays.)
As I posted on several of the "homocon" threads:
This is at the heart of the problem, that Ann truly LIKES many gay people -- and THEY really like her.
Many social conservatives seem to fear that Ann's close association with gay people on such a PERSONAL level will eventually effect her on a POLITICAL level...
...and they are concerned that Ann will have a "Ted Olson"-like conversion to the Dark Side.
TED OLSON, as you may recall, is the widower of Ann's very good friend BARBARA OLSON -- who died on 9/11 in the hijacked plane that hit the Pentagon.
But recently, the previously conservative Ted Olson led the legal battle to get California's Proposition 8 (which defined marriage as only being between "one man and one woman") overturned in the courts...

...and he seems to have been influenced to support gay marriage by his new lefty wife.

ANN, however, has shown NO similar signs of "going wobbly" on us -- beyond the fact that she has many gay friends and admirers.

...Ann truly LIKES many gay people -- and THEY really like her..
Here's a (somewhat garbled) account of what Ann said a few months ago -- at a "question and answer" session after her speech at UCLA:
...Ann Coulter likes gay people. She has lots of gay friends!

So many gays support her that if you went to West Hollywood and said you didn't like her, all the hair stylists would refuse to cut your hair.

But she doesn't want them to marry.

They don't want to marry, they told her themselves. They just support gay marriage because it's a nice symbol of public acceptance.

Isn't that the whole point of being gay anyway, that you don't have to marry?

She's not anti-gay, she's just pro-family.

She also opposes single mothers. Did you know that such and such criminal was raised by a single mother?

Who knows what weird stuff will happen to children raised by gay couples?

Having heard Ann speak in this kind of forum in the past, I'm sure that HER actual words and delivery were MUCH BETTER than this left-leaning graduate student's paraphrasing would indicate....
...but I think that her position on gay marriage comes through CRYSTAL CLEAR.
