"The old general might still have it in him ... 145 years after Appomattox, Grant won't have to surrender this one either." -- Katie Couric, Notebook, 8-25-10
What does it take to get Katie Couric to root for a military man? Put him in a fight against the MSM's great bogeyman, Ronald Reagan.
The CBS Evening News anchor devoted her Notebook yesterday to the battle to replace Ulysses S. Grant on the $50 bill with the Gipper. And Katie left no doubt--witness her concluding lines above--that she's rooting for the man who's buried in Grant's tomb to defeat the president who made Mr. Gorbachev tear down that wall.

The sooner the better. May she rot in lefty ,reporter ,who got fired ,hell.
The Susan B. Anthony dollar coins failed primarily because they were too close in size to the quarter. Now the Eisenhower dollar coin was a real dollar coin. It felt solid in your pocket, as if you had some real money. :-)

Problem solved.
(This works in Firefox, but I’m sure there are ways to accomplish the same thing in other Browsers.)
Off subject, but does anyone know how I can locate a you tube video of Katie interviewing a Marine Corp Colonel last Friday. The young Marine standing guard was a local young man. Thanks!
“Mother...My Couric itches.”
Sure, there are ways around it - that’s not the point.
For all I know, that sends info back to the home planet as well.
Why should I have to dodge their spies?
Why should I tolerate their messing with my COPY/PASTE function on MY computer?
Copy and paste has been around for 25 years, why futz with it now?
That was my first reaction, but reading it again, her statement is valid.
Grant wont have to surrender this one either, just like he didn't have to surrender the last one.
the idiot! is this the best she can do given all the serious news we have today?
Let’s ask Native Americans.
The referring info gets sent to the host when someone copies the URL into their Browser address box. When you copy from Selection Source, that URL is not added to the copied text. Therefore, no phoning home.

Money from advertisers for web page hits?
Make her really happy & put Karl Marx on it.
Put Reagan on a new $500 bill.
We will need them soon enough.
Now is not the time to be spending any money to fix something that isn’t broken. It’s all adding up, and it pisses me off!
Katie Couric: anchor of the lowest-rated news show since Morty Feldman’s “High School Roundup” on Public Access.
Hate to break it to you, Izzy, but on the internet if it’s doable it’s pretty much going to be done.
If copy/paste java scriptlets offend your sense of privacy you better be aware that there’s a whole lot more going on behind the scenes that would also give you the jitters.
Suggestion: switch back to print newspapers and give your computer to charity (or to your kids).
‘My enemies I can handle, but my friends are KILLING me!’ Grant on the corruption in his administration.
Make her really happy & put Karl Marx on it.You're talking about giving her a Chrissy-size leg-tingle!
Our devoted nanny did away with bills bigger than $100 so that drug dealers couldn’t move large sums without attracting attention by moving big bulk. What a crock!
Go to a casino and ask if bringing back the $500 bill would be a good thing. Or the $1K or the $10K.
Put Ronnie on the $500 bill.
I say we use Katie Couric’s picture....on every square of toilet paper manufactured, that is.
